With over 20 years of experience powering live productions, Disguise technology has been at the heart of shows including Coachella, Eurovision, and more. For Adele’s Munich residency, however, the team did something they’d never done before: powering visuals on the largest continuous outdoor LED screen (temporary).

Adele in Munich took place over 10 nights in a bespoke, 80,000-capacity stadium. This major event called for a suitably epic stage production. Having supported Adele’s live shows before, Disguise went above and beyond its previous efforts to help create, sync, and display visuals on a 4,159.7 square meter LED wall that would be assembled to look like a strip of film.
“This Munich residency is unlike anything that has ever been done before. There was no template, no comparison—only possibilities. What makes this show groundbreaking isn’t just the scale of the record-breaking LED screen, but the innovative thinking that made it possible. This production redefines how live entertainment can be experienced. Working alongside Adele’s visionary team and all the other top-tier suppliers, we were able to push beyond the limits of what anyone thought was possible. It’s this spirit of collaboration and innovation that made the GUINNESS WORLD RECORDS® for the Largest Outdoor LED Screen achievable. I want to extend my congratulations to everyone involved and the entire crew who made this achievement a reality.” – Ian “Woody” Woodall, Solotech’s Director of Global Touring and Special Projects.
To ensure all the high-resolution visuals—ranging from close-ups of Adele to blazing fires—were seamlessly displayed, systems integrator Solotech worked with programmer Richard Turner and the set design team at Stufish. Together, they used eight Disguise GX3 servers to power the wall with full 1:1 redundancy, ensuring the whole canvas was kept perfectly in sync between machines. They also used 18 SDI VFC cards, enabling the servers to output SDI natively to the LED processors, removing the need for downstream conversion. The show was sequenced to timecode, with Disguise’s Designer software compositing rendered visuals, Notch effects and capture inputs to deliver ultimate flexibility for the Treatment Studio team.
“With tens of thousands watching, perfection is our goal every single night,” says Lizzie Pocock, producer at Treatment Studio. “When you’re working with screens this large, there’s nowhere to hide. Disguise gives us the confidence to deliver flawless video playback consistently. Its reliability and flexibility, coupled with the ability to quickly iterate on-site, are invaluable. This allows us to focus our energy on the creative, knowing we’re on solid ground technically.”
Adele’s Munich residency played host to more than 730,000 fans from all over the world, reportedly the highest turnout for any concert residency outside Las Vegas. “We are proud to have played an essential role in making these concerts such an immersive, personal and unforgettable experience for Adele’s fans,” says Emily Malone, Head of Live Events at Disguise.
