Legendary Beach Boys singer/songwriter Brian Wilson is spreading musical cheer across the country on “The Christmas Album Tour,” using High End Systems to light the way.

More details from High End (www.highend.com):

LD Chris Stuba specified High End Systems’ SolaFrame 2000s on his Lighting Wish List to tour vendor Bandit Lites – and Santa arrived early. Stuba unwrapped the HES automated luminaires during rehearsals in October for the current holiday-themed run, which kicked off after Thanksgiving.

“I am loving my SolaFrame 2000s,” he says. “Initially I chose the SolaFrames because I needed a floor light that would not interfere with vintage Fender amps,” Stuba explains. “I was experiencing buzz and hum from some fixtures that had transformers.”

Solving that situation and finding harmony in their quiet operation, Stuba went on to enjoy the SolaFrame 2000’s CMY/CTO color mixing, gobos, animation wheel, iris, frost and other standard features of the automated LED luminaire.

“Once I started using the lights I fell in love with the optics and the rich High End color. I also love the animation I get with the fixtures,” he says.

The SolaFrame 2000s are positioned on the floor behind the band to add texture and color to the drapes and serve as overall back lights.

“The lights are a big part of the overall look of the show and they ended up being the brightest light in the rig,” he says. “Keep up the good work, HES!”

Stuba has been working with Brian since The Beach Boys’ 50th anniversary tour in 2012. Lighting Director Chaz Martin is carrying out his festive design across the U.S. through Dec. 23, 2018.
