FRANKFURT – ADJ is once again set to make a serious impact at this year’s Prolight + Sound event in Frankfurt, Germany. Europe’s biggest trade show for entertainment lighting technology, it attracts visitors from across the continent as well as Africa, Asia and the Americas. ADJ (Hall 5.0, Stand C81) will use this large global platform to introduce six brand new products, as well as to showcase other recently launched fixtures for the first time in Europe.

Building on the success of ADJ’s hugely popular Vizi Hybrid 16RX, the new Vizi CMY 16RX is a true hybrid moving head that functions interchangeably as a spot, beam or wash fixture. It features full CMY color mixing, allowing Lighting Designers the creative freedom to select the exact hue they require to achieve any desired look or effect. Powered by the revolutionary Philips® Platinum 16R MSD light-source, a 330W unit with an output comparable to a 575W standard discharge lamp, the Vizi CMY 16RX offers a flat, even spot field and incredible color saturation. Loaded with features – including two separate GOBO wheels, motorized zoom and focus, two rotating prisms (6-facet linear and 8-facet circular) and a frost filter – this cutting-edge fixture is an ideal workhorse for touring productions, venue installations and full-service production companies
The Entour Faze is the latest addition to ADJ’s Entour Series of professional-caliber effect generators. A compact, yet powerful unit, it is ideal for installation in small-to-medium-sized venues as well as for use by production companies, gigging bands and mobile entertainers. This 250W machine uses ADJ’s patent-pending rapid heater technology to allow it to be ready to go in just 40 seconds from the time it is turned on. Running on regular water-based fog fluid, the Entour Faze first creates fog by heating the fluid and then dissipates it evenly using a powerful in-built fan to create a fine mist of lightshow-enhancing haze-like fog. The machine has an output of 1000 cubic feet per minute and, with a tank capacity of 3L and fluid consumption rate of 10 ml. per minute, it is capable of five hours of operation from a single tank of fluid.
A modern LED twist on the iconic halogen Par Can, the new PAR Z120 RGBW is powered by a potent 115W quad color C.O.B (Chip On Board) LED. Combining red, green, blue and white chips into a single LED, the fixture’s light-source allows for extremely smooth color mixing while casting no color shadows. Packaged in a standard Par 64 casing, this flexible fixture offers five different beam angle options – 7, 11.5, 16, 20.5 and 25-degrees – which can be easily selected using a manual latch system. The fixture is supplied with a gel frame in which diffusion filters may be inserted to further change the beam angle, while locking powerCON input and output sockets allow the power supply for multiple fixtures to be daisy-chained from a single socket. The Par Z120 RGBW allows lighting and stage designers to achieve the look of traditional stage pars with the technological advantages of a modern LED light-source.
Prolight + Sound 2018 will also see the worldwide debut of a new range of weatherproof ADJ LED Par fixtures. The 7P HEX IP, 12P HEX IP and 18P HEX IP all feature a distinctive metallic casing design with an IP65 rating, making them suitable for use both indoors and outdoors regardless of the weather conditions. Offering a beam angle of 30-degrees, each of these fixtures utilizes an arrangement of powerful 12-Watt 6-in-1 HEX (red, green, blue, amber, white & UV) LEDs to provide lighting designers with a huge palette of colors including UV-infused hot pink, lime green and electric blue. All three units are equipped with powerCON True1 input and output sockets as well as IP-rated 3-pin DMX input and output sockets fitted with waterproof rubber caps. This means that IP-rated power and DMX linking cables can be used for outdoor applications, however standard XLR and powerCON cables can also be utilized if the fixtures are used indoors.
As well as these exclusive new product launches, ADJ’s large booth on the Prolight + Sound show floor will also showcase a number of other recently released fixtures. These will include the LED-powered Vizi CMY300 hybrid moving head and high-output Vizi Wash ProRGBW moving head wash fixture with motorized zoom and three LED zones.
Also on display will be ADJ’s brand new video panel range, the Design Series. This innovative system comprises four modular panels of different shapes that can be combined together to create video screens of almost any conceivable shape. The DS4 (square), DS4T (triangle),DS4QC (quarter circle) and DS4HC (rectangle) can be easily linked together, rigged and transported using an expansive collection of accessories, allowing unique and eye-catching screen configurations of any size to be created for fixed installations and touring productions.
