Detroit-based Display Group has acquired Belleville, MI-based Fantasee Lighting. The combination creates a full-service event production company—offering clients a one-stop shop for production services for corporate meetings, celebrations, concerts and other events—giving the Display Group a competitive advantage in the market.
The companies’ founders first began talking seven or eight years ago, but it wasn’t until AVL Creative (formerly Fairway Productions) became part of the Display Group four years ago, that the company really began partnering with Fantasee Lighting on several projects. But the idea of combining the companies didn’t come back up until last December when the Display Group and AVL were working with Fantasee Lighting on a large corporate event at Huntington Place, a convention center in downtown Detroit.
“It was the power of that one show that we did together, and everything worked so smoothly. It was incredible,” said Fantasee Lighting Founder and CEO Stefan Graf.
