In Memoriam: John Fahnestock, Lighting Salesperson

It is with much sadness that PLSN learned of the recent passing of John Fahnestock, who was most recently a Sales Manager with PSAV. He had taken a fall a few months ago and died in his sleep the week of Oct. 21, 2024.

In Memoriam: Richard C. Huggins, Founder of Theatre Magic and SFX Design, Inc., 78

Richard C. Huggins, Founder of Theatre Magic and SFX Design, Inc. has sadly passed away. He was 78 years old. Jason Reberski, a mentee of Huggins wrote this In Memoriam for Huggins, who designed and created hundreds of custom effects on movies like ‘Gettysburg’, Broadway shows including ‘Miss Saigon’, ‘Phantom of the Opera’, and ‘Brigadoon’, as well as live spectaculars such as ‘Siegfried & Roy at The Mirage’.

The Stage Managers’ Association Announces 2024 Del Hughes Awards for Lifetime Achievement in the Art of Stage Management

On Monday October 28th, 2024, the Stage Managers’ Association (SMA) will present its annual Del Hughes Awards for Lifetime Achievement in the Art of Stage Management at the National Opera Center’s Marc A. Scorca Hall in NYC. The distinguished 2024 honorees are theatrical Production Stage Managers Lloyd Davis, Jr., Ed De Shae, and Denise Yaney.

The intimate play revolves around Rachel McAdams as the single mother of a critically ill toddler and the women in her orbit that form her support system. The play was delicately lit by Ben Stanton using Source Four fixtures, programmed on an Eos Ti.

ETC Illuminates Powerhouse Performances in ‘Days of Wine and Roses’ on Broadway

A precarious dance between true love and tragic addiction took center stage in ‘Days of Wine and Roses’ on Broadway. The dark, jazzy musical, based on a 1962 film of the same name, was staged at the legendary Studio 54 theatre. The show was lit to moody perfection with ETC fixtures by Designer Ben Stanton and run on an ETC Apex programmed by Alex Fogel.
