Maranda DeBusk Appointed as Assistant Professor of Lighting Design at UNC Greensboro

College of Visual and Performing Arts (CVPA) Dean bruce d. mcclung has announced the appointment of Maranda DeBusk as Assistant Professor of Lighting Design in CVPA’s School of Theatre at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. We at Stage Directions send our congratulations to DeBusk on her new appointment!

DeBusk holds an MFA in Lighting Design and Digital Media from the University of Tennessee, and a BA in Theatre Arts from Furman University. Scenic Designer Dipu Gupta Joins the SMTD Faculty at the University of Michigan in Fall 2021

Dipu Gupta will join the School of Music, Theatre & Dance as a Visiting Associate Professor in the Design & Production area of the Department of Theatre & Drama during the 2021-22 academic year. Gupta is a prolific designer both within the fields of theatre as well as architecture and design. We at Stage Directions send our congratulations to Gupta on his new appointment!

In this month’s Society of Properties Artisan Managers’ S*P*A*Minar, S*P*A*M welcomed Eimer Murphy all the way from Dublin. In this S*P*A*Minar, you will hear all about her experiences as the Prop Master at the Abbey Theatre, the National Theatre of Ireland and speak about the Abbey Prop Rooms as ‘material culture’ of the Abbey Theatre. She shows documents from the Abbey archive such as prop lists and scripts, and gave an introduction to the Dublin tenements, the 1916 Rising and the ‘Rising play’: The Plough and the Stars.
