Join USITT for its second Digital Media Symposium & projection mapping event that will be held in conjunction with the LUMA Festival, America’s premier projection arts festival. For three days from Sept. 8-10, 2022, USITT’s partners from 7thSense, Pixera, Show Sage, ETP Brainhub, and others will take you through three tracks of education, from Concept & Ideas to Design, and Delivery.

Tanzhaus nrw in Dusseldorf Adds Prolight Luminaires

Located in a former Düsseldorf tram depot, tanzhaus nrw has modernized its lighting technology including 40 LED profile spotlights from Prolights. tanzhaus nrw is a center for international dance with eight dance and rehearsal studios and two stages. The venue covers an area of ​​4,000 sq. m., with both a performance space and production, as well as an academy with more than 200 stage events a year, where it hosts an entire span of contemporary dance performances.

NYC Theater District Hotel Civilian Celebrates Theater Design

The Theater District’s newest hotel, Civilian, celebrates theater design. Jason Pomeranc is the owner and creator of the Civilian brand along with David Rockwell, who served as the architect, interior designer, and curator of Civilian’s art program, the Olio Collection. When Mountview Academy of Theatre Arts decided to bring a bold new actor-musician interpretation to the Royal Shakespeare Company’s musical adaption of the Stephen King classic Carrie, it was Mountview’s former head of lighting training, Louisa Smurthwaite, who worked with the students to create the visceral, yet retro lighting design. Survey for Equitable Labor Practices in Theatrical Production, Ends July 31

Do you design, work as crew or technical staff in theatrical production? If so, you are invited to participate in a survey in support of academic research on the equitable labor practices in theatrical production. This research is for a book that is being written about equitable labor in theater production.

@sohoplace Theater to Open in London This Fall

A new, state of the art, and flexible 602-seat in-the-round theater will be opening this fall in London, UK. Leading West End producer and theater owner, Nica Burns, announced the opening of @sohoplace, the culmination of a 12-year project.
