Video of the Week: Women in Lighting // Celine Royer // Lighting Designer, Director, and Programmer

Celine Royer is a lighting designer, lighting director, and programmer who loves music and creating shows that appeal both to the audience and to the bands she works with. She has had an unusual path into lighting, switching from being a hairdresser and a singer in a band to a career as a lighting technician in France. She moved to the United States so that she could work with bigger shows and acts than the ones that were available to her in France. She has now worked with many different bands and acts including Jennifer Lopez, Linkin Park, Mike Shinoda and on Rupaul’s Drag Race for the World Tour and the Vegas residency.

Video of the Week: LD Diana Kesselschmidt Talks About the AV Behind the Bryant Park Winter Wonderland

Christmas time in New York City is magical and among the many things to experience, the Winter Village at Bryant Park is a must. Located at the famed NYC library, Bryant Park is a unique holiday tradition. For the last six years, PRG has provided lighting and audio for the ice rink supporting Lighting Designer Diana Kesselschmidt who designed the lighting to capture the magical, special, and sometimes romantic aspects of the park.

Lighting Designer Marsha Stern started out lighting for discos in the 1970s before transitioning into architectural and architainment lighting projects in the 90s. She has a podcast, Heartbeat of the Dance Floor® that looks back fondly on the glory days of disco. Video of the Week: Behind the Drone Show for the Albuquerque International Balloon Fiesta

A festival celebrating the earliest form of aviation was complemented by the very latest in aviation technology, when drone show specialist Verge Aero flew a series of spectacular light shows for the 50th anniversary Albuquerque International Balloon Fiesta (AIBF) in New Mexico. Here’s a Spooktacular video for Halloween! Blockhouse Studios deployed 14 Epson laser projectors to deliver a haunted walking path full of ghostly encounters and eerie immersive experiences for the Harvest Nights event for Indianapolis Museum of Art at Newfields. Using projection mapping and impressive special effects, including Gerriets HOLOVISION scrim to create a phantom train, Blockhouse Studios was able to push the boundaries of the imagination to an inventive haunted event.
