Guinness World Record Setting 4th of July Drone Show

Texas-based Sky Elements Drone Shows achieved the GUINNESS WORLD RECORDS™ title for the largest aerial sentence formed by multirotor/drones. They used 796 drones to spell “Happy 4th of July 2023” at the North Richland Hills, Texas “Family 4th (on the 3rd)” event Monday, July 3, 2023. The previous record was set with 673 drones. A total of 1,002 drones armed with bright LED lights dazzled the crowd with a 10-minute show paying tribute to the history of the United States.

The Eurovision Song Contest 2023 in Liverpool came to a brilliant end with a dynamic final in the glorious Liverpool Arena. The Design Winners of the 67th Annual Drama Desk Awards

On May 31, 2023 the winners for the 67th Annual Drama Desk Awards were announced. In keeping with the Drama Desk‘s mission, the nominators considered shows that opened on Broadway, Off-Broadway, and Off-Off Broadway during the 2022-2023 season for this year’s awards. Among the winners are Life of Pi designers: Tim Hatley for Lighting and Andrzej Goulding for Projection and Video. Here is a glimpse of their award-winning work and a list of all the Drama Desk design winners.

A Tour of the Stage for Metallica’s ‘M72 World Tour’

Metallica’s M72 World Tour covers 12 countries, 49 total shows, and has a custom stage that Metallica shows off in this behind the scenes video. James Hetfield, Lars Ulrich, Kirk Hammett, and Robert Trujillo sit down with Zane Lowe in the Johan Cruijff Arena in Amsterdam. You see the stage setup in the beginning and then in the final segment (49:12) Lars Ulrich shows Zane an up-close view of the “Snake Pit” stage setup, looking at the incredible infrastructure of the stage and the details that create this incredible environment for the band and the audience.

After four days full of innovative presentations, exciting conferences and emotional encounters, Prolight + Sound 2023 closes with a noticeable increase in visitor numbers. More than 27,500 professionals from 113 countries, and 457 exhibitors from 34 countries demonstrated the industry’s innovative strength in an impressive way. There were also numerous conversations, presentations,  approaches and solutions shared for current topics such as the implementation of sustainable events or the increasing demand for skilled and junior staff.
