Sydney Casino Redesigns Video Content Distribution with Gefen Solution

SYDNEY – Gary Garr, executive manager of the St. George Leagues Club Casino in Sydney, Australia worked with WED Group services & integration manager Matthew Joyce on a video upgrade that included a redesign of the casino’s content distribution system. It now includes Gefen’s 1080p Video Over IP solutions to distribute video graphics to the casino’s 100 displays.

Viewers tuned in to see stars such as, John Travolta, French actor Gerard Depardieu, singers Anastacia, Tony Hadley and Simon Le Bon discuss the music that’s important to them.

d3 Performs Projection Mapping as ‘Music!’ Makes its Mark on Italian TV

ROME – On the Italian TV special, Music!, a wide array of international celebrities shared the stories of the songs of their lives and gave their own live renditions of the tunes. STS Communication, d3’s new rental partner in Italy, provided technical resources for the show, including using d3 to projection map the large dome that topped the set. Music! aired on Italy’s Mediaset Canale 5 in primetime for three evenings in January with 4.6 million viewers per episode.

LOS ANGELES – Operating fully in 4K and with up to 16 cameras, Columbus is Gearhouse Broadcast USA’s newest OB Mobile Unit – and one of the most technologically sophisticated  on the road. Requiring the flexibility to serve both large sports and entertainment productions, Gearhouse turned to equipment from German Broadcast manufacturer Lawo for many of the critical components of the mobile production unit.

This was especially evident recently when the Austin, Texas-based company created a lighting and video show for CRUSH Dallas 2017, part of a four-city Insomniac production. Their immersive, high octane rig engaged the packed house at the South Side Ballroom, while also supporting the diverse musical styles of artists on stage, thanks in part to a massive collection of PVP X6IP LED video panels from Chauvet Professional.

Hitachi Kokusai to Showcase HDR Advances at 2017 NAB Show

LAS VEGAS — Hitachi Kokusai Electric America Ltd. (Hitachi Kokusai) will highlight advances in High Dynamic Range (HDR) video acquisition at the upcoming 2017 NAB Show, taking place April 24-27 in Las Vegas. Macroblock’s Hawkeye 200 Benefits Showcased at ISE 2017

AMSTERDAM — For the 14th edition of Integrated Systems Europe (ISE 2017), LED display company Macroblock focused on Hawkeye 200, which uses the 48-channel MBI5353 driver IC improved layout and other system enhancements to boost image quality, reduce overall power consumption, adjust brightness without losing grayscale and keep proper white balance as brightness levels change.

LOUISVILLE, KY — QA: Video Solutions Inc. recently upgraded the AV control systems, displays, playback devices and servers in the Muhammad Ali Center, which offers three levels of exhibits and galleries dedicated to the life and legacy of the boxing legend, who died last June at age 74.  Mike Little, president of QA: Video Solutions, used equipment from Alcorn McBride for the upgrade.

CHELMSFORD, MASS. – Broadcast Pix™ today announced the City of Durham, N.C., has upgraded to a Granite™ 1000 integrated production switcher for coverage of its bi-monthly city council and monthly planning commission meetings. Vivian Cruz-O’Doherty, government television manager in the city’s Office of Public Affairs, said the new switcher is Durham’s first step toward upgrading its meeting coverage to HD production.
