MONTREAL – Christie®, a leader in creating and delivering the world’s best visual and audio experiences, is providing projectors for Expo 67 Live, a celebration to honor the 50th anniversary of the Montreal World’s Fair, produced by the National Film Board of Canada (NFB). From September 18 to 30, Christie Roadster HD20K-J 3DLP® projectors will light up Esplanade de la Place des Arts to broadcast images onto the giant multi-screen installation to immerse viewers in the cinematic environment and relive Expo 67.

MIAMI BEACH, FL – Major League Baseball’s 2017 All-Star Game took place July 11 at Marlins Park in Miami, FL. Leading up to the game, MLB once again stoked fan enthusiasm with FanFest, a multi-day event than ran from July 7-11 at the Miami Beach Convention Center. The event producers worked with BaAM Productions and MSI Productions to create an LED video tunnel entrance using 3.9mm FLEXLite Plus from PixelFLEX.

Christie and Applied Electronics Add Ocean Visuals to Vancouver’s Cambie Street Bridge

VANCOUVER, BC – Christie and Applied Electronics are bringing the annual salmon run to Vancouver’s Cambie Street Bridge in a striking projection mapping display for Canada’s 150th birthday celebrations. With content provided by Canada Wild Productions and using eight Christie 3DLP® projectors, the attraction, titled ‘Uninterrupted,’ opened June 28 and runs into early fall. The cinematic spectacle celebrates British Columbia’s annual salmon run, which sees millions of salmon migrate from the Pacific Ocean to their spawning grounds.

PHOENIX – For Depeche Mode’s current “Global Spirit” tour, Sooner Routhier of SRae Productions noted how the visual design team makes use of two Hippotizer Boreal media servers to manage the show’s video playback. The tour, slated to travel to 32 cities in 21 countries, supports the venerable band’s latest album release, Spirit, with a production design by Anton Corbijn.

NEW YORK – WorldStage has once again collaborated with multi-media artist Clifford Ross, this time providing LED support for his mixed media installation, “Light | Waves,” at the Parrish Art Museum in Water Mill, New York.  Two years ago WorldStage supported Ross’s “Landscape Seen & Imagined” exhibition at MASS MoCA (Massachusetts Museum of Contemporary Art).

Big City, Big Dreams Ballet with Green Hippo.

JOHANNESBURG – Set, lighting and AV designer, Wilhelm Disbergen, relied on a Hippotizer Boreal Media Server and a giant mirror to create something utterly extraordinary for the ballet production Big City, Big Dreams, staged at the Joburg Theatre, in Johannesburg, South Africa. The original showcase, directed by Fiona Ramsay, was a collaboration between three dance companies – the Joburg Ballet, Vuyani Dance Company, and Moving Into Dance Mophatong. Over forty professional dancers adorned the stage as classical ballet infused with contemporary and street dance.
