Gearhouse was again working for The Shalom Trust and in collaboration with its technical coordinator, Nik Fairclough of Northwind Recording, who also mixed the FOH sound.
MACON, GA – For the Asylum nightclub here, Atlanta-based Integrated Visions Productions LLC has tiled six projectors together to create a 136-foot-wide display. IVP also produced the custom HD content, which is synched to the music that plays in the club.
LAS VEGAS – A series of virtual reality (VR) demonstrations took place at Brainstorm Multimedia's 2010 NAB Convention booth. The demos served as the first showing of real-time integration of live stereoscopic 3D cameras as part of a virtual environment, and Vinten Radamec supported the show with its encoded pan and tilt heads and pedestals.
ZURICH, Switzerland – In comedy, timing is everything, and for Swiss entertainer Marco Rima's Die Patienten to succeed, the crew needed to accurately synchronize video projection on three independently-revolving walls. Technology from coolux helped keep the insanity onstage, where it belonged.
PORT-AU-PRINCE, Haiti – The Cinépolis Foundation's social outreach program, "Let's all go to Cinépolis Haiti," projected 11 movies using donated Christie digital cinema projectors and an inflatable screen set up in shelters for survivors of the Feb. 12th earthquake.
MIAMI – For The Who's performance at the The Bridgestone Super Bowl XLIV Halftime Show, the 3,055 Barco MiStrips incorporated into the custom video deck displayed arrows and other linear graphics that defied the non-linear arrangement of the MiStrips themselves. The design team used a beta version of VideoMapper, a software component to be included in an upcoming version of Green Hippo's Hippotizer HD media server software.
SUSSEX, U.K. – Video solutions specialist SNP Productions supplied two Catalyst V4 PRO media servers and a complete projection package to Glyndebourne Opera for their production of Knight Crew.
TORONTO, ON – When the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation rebranded "CBC Newsworld" and relaunched its primetime show, The National, the network turned to Applied Electronics Limited (AEL) to design, engineer and integrate the display technology for two new sets and studio configurations.
LAS VEGAS – For a corporate event staged at the Sands Expo Center, Todd Street Productions worked with Joe West, senior creative and lighting director for Digital Stage Chicago, to create a seamless, 600-foot circular blend of graphics using 30 Barco/High End Systems DL.3s. The project represented one of the largest assemblies of DL.3 gear.
ORLANDO, FL – LMG, Inc. recently purchased the Ross Video Vision 3 QMD Switcher to enhance the firm's video inventory and switching capabilities. The purchase also represents a step LMG is taking toward a multi-definition platform for the live production environment.
BEIJING, China – Kingsmark Event Engineering Co., Ltd. and China Television Technology Development Company worked with Barco Greater China to light up the broadcast for Chinese Central Television's annual New Years Gala 2010 with a large LED backdrop.
