Foo Fighters Touring with Custom HD Video Elements

MILTON KEYNES, U.K. — Chaos Visual Productions is providing new video elements for the Foo Fighters’ 2011 Wasting Light tour, working with John Cutcliffe of SAM Entertainment, Eric Pearce of SGPS and the designs of Dan Hadley on a multifaceted production managed by Joe Beebe. The collaboration includes custom pods of high-resolution 8mm WinVision along with a custom stage using 18mm video elements.

DALLAS — GoVision supported the NBA championship-winning Dallas Mavericks’ June 16 victory parade with HD video displays including its 19-by-33-foot GoBigger unit and a 9-by-16-foot GoBig unit stationed at fixed locations and a GoBig mobile unit riding along the parade route itself, showing footage of the Maverick’s championship run.

LAS VEGAS — It’s not easy to stand out in the night skyline of Las Vegas, but the Tropicana is turning heads nightly with an ongoing 3D video projection on the exterior of the building. The projection was designed and installed by LD Systems of Houston using Hippotizer media servers, Barco 20K projectors and 3D media content provided by Texas Video & Post, with 2D content by SKG Advertising of Las Vegas.

ORLANDO, FL — Highlighting visual technologies that ranged from projection mapping, 4K, 3D and impact walls, Christie set a company record for InfoComm exhibit floor space this year. Products featured at the booth and InfoComm’s 3D Pavilion included projectors, displays, video processors, yoke systems and software solutions, targeting entertainment, government and academic uses.

Mayday 2011 Adds LED Flash with GLP Fixtures

DORTMUND, Germany — Held since 1997 at Dortmund’s Westfalenhallen, and marking 20 years since it was founded in 1991, the indoor rave, Mayday, drew crowds to its “Arena” section in hall 1 for trance and softer music, while its “Empire” section in hall 3 attracted fans of harder-driving techno and electro music. Both areas were lit with LED fixtures from GLP.
