Projection Studio, White Light for Durham’s Crown of Light

DURHAM, UK – Lumière 2011 features the work of dozens of artists, lighting designers and community groups in 35 installations, bringing a “sparkle of magic” to the medieval city of Durham. The highlight was Crown of Light, a son-et-lumière that uses the architecture of Durham Cathedral as its canvas. Created by projection artist Ross Ashton, Crown of Light
involved a team of specialists including The Projection Studio and White Light Ltd.

Martin Dresses Up Legoland for Halloween Fun

AARHUS, Denmark – For October’s Halloween activities at Legoland in Billund, Denmark, the park outfitted its King’s Castle in Halloween-themed colors and graphics, including animated images from LED-based Martin Professional Exterior 400 Image Projectors. Images of ghosts, skeletons, bats and more decorated the haunt.

Coolux Works the Catwalk for Centro Fashion Week

COLOGNE, Germany – A coolux Pandoras Box Server Pro played more than 460 movie clips on the curved LED catwalk for the Centro Fashion Week in Oberhausen, Germany. Five K Managing Director Werner Kokott integrated the large number of media files, including those he created, with the theme of autumn and winter imagery.

COLOGNE, Germany – Coolux hosted its first Expert Warping Training class Nov. 21-24 at its headquarters for an international group of AV industry professionals. Warping involves the process of mapping content to non-flat surfaces so that the image does not appear to be distorted.

Dolphins Make Splash at Georgia Aquarium with Electrosonic

BURBANK, CA – Dolphins are making a big splash in a theatrical show at the Georgia Aquarium in Atlanta.  Electrosonic played a major role designing, supplying and installing all the audio and video equipment the show required.  In addition, Electrosonic’s Design Consulting team took on the production’s complex AV and show control systems design. LD David Agress was also on the project.

Pete’s Big TVs on Yo Gabba Gabba Live Tour

NEW CASTLE, DE – The family entertainment tour, “Yo Gabba Gabba! Live – It’s Time to Dance,”  is taking kids’ shows up a notch production-wise. Pete’s Big TVs is providing various LED video panels making up the set of the show, produced by S2BN Entertainment – the same entity producing the Broadway musical, “Spider-Man: Turn Off the Dark.”

TEMPE, AZ – Arizona’s Sound Wave festival is appropriately named for its location: inside a wave pool at the Big Surf Waterpark in Tempe. Creative Backstage handled the video and stage design, choosing EVLED 1024SMD panels from Elation to create a 3D-like effect.

LARKSTON, MI  – High Resolution Systems’ UDC-400 Universal Device Controller took the stage to provide screen control and ArtNet translation at the 28th annual MTV Video Music Awards (VMAs) and multiple screen control at the 63rd annual Primetime Emmy Awards.

High Resolutions’ UDC Plays Part in Munich Video Art Install

CLARKSON, MI – Artist and director Dries Verhoeven devised the idea of a 360-degree projection – an art installation – which would depict the power and powerlessness of the human eye. High Resolution Systems LLC’s Universal Device Controller (UDC) helped by controlling a series of AJA KiPro Mini field recorders in Munich, Germany’s Kammerspiele Theatre.
