Spyder Takes Center Stage for Timberlake Church Install

REDMOND, WA – When Timberlake Church in Redmond, WA, wanted to redesign its main stage, it asked FocusWorship for help in meeting its AV needs. The church is in the middle of Microsoft country, so it needed to speak the language of its congregation with the technology install. A Vista Systems Spyder X20 was selected to be the brains behind the video distribution for the LED wall and flat TVs/digital signage displays.

Christie Hosts Solutions Showcase

CYPRESS, CA – Christie Digital, along with Draper Inc., Alcorn McBride and Tannoy hosted “Solutions that Rock,” a free event introducing several of its new display solutions to organizations involved with professional AV rental staging, fixed installs and corporate AV environments. The event took place Sept. 17-19 at Grips Local Union Building in Burbank, CA. The road show wraps up its tour with stops Nov. 7-8 in Philadelphia and in Phoenix Dec. 3-5.

XL Video Supplies The xx Tour Projection

LONDON – XL Video is supplying a high power projection system and Green Hippo Hippotizer i7 HD media servers for UK indie band The xx, who are in the middle of an 18-month world tour. Much of the show is about video being used as a light source for creating moods and atmosphere, silhouetting the band, or capturing them starkly in the projector beam paths with undulating multicolor gobo-like effects and fluid, subtle laser-like moments.

MTV’s VMAs Use Teranex for Live 2D to 3D Presentation

LOS ANGELES – MTV used Blackmagic Design’s Teranex video processing technology for a 3D screening of the “2012 MTV Video Music Awards” (VMAs). Recorded live at Staples Center, MTV simultaneously broadcast the VMAs in 3D to 600 fans at the nearby Regal Cinemas’ L.A. Live Theater.

Stand Up to Cancer Telethon Includes Projection from Chaos

LOS ANGELES — The 2012 Stand Up to Cancer Telethon (SU2C), which aired with minimal commercial interruption on 21 TV networks Sept. 7 including ABC, CBS, NBC, TBS, HBO and Fox, included projection support from Chaos Visual Productions. Donations raised by the telethon exceeded $81 million.

First Presbyterian Chooses Vaddio PTZ Camera System

GREENWOOD, SC – When First Presbyterian Church decided to introduce video production into their 55-year-old facility, the visual impact was a strong concern. So Hames Pro, an AV and lighting systems provider,  installed three Vaddio WallVIEW 70 PTZ standard definition cameras and a Vaddio ProductionView FX console to both control and switch between the cameras. Remotely controlled, these small cameras are easily mounted to walls or other surfaces, enabling nearly invisible placement in locations impossible to be serviced by a tripod-mounted camera system.

NFL Kicks Off Football Season with Musical Performances, LED Visuals from Chaos

NEW YORK — NBC and the NFL Network kicked off the 93rd NFL football season in early September with televised performances by Maria Carey and No Doubt. Chaos Visual Productions provided an assist for the pregame show with a series of WinVision 8mm LED screens in various shapes and sizes around NBC’s home base in Rockefeller Center.

Barco Projection Maps in 3D at Ultra Music Fest

MIAMI – Barco teamed up with broadcast/event producer SennovA, to create the visual centerpiece for the Ultra Music Festival in Miami. The partners delivered a 3D projection mapping display which covered 29 floors of the Intercontinental Miami Hotel exterior with bold, animated imagery. Four FLM-HD20 and eight FLM R22+ large event projectors were used to create the projection mapping installation on the 15,000 sq. ft. surface.

Montreux Jazz Fest

XL Video Gets Jazzy at Montreux

MONTREUX, Switzerland – XL Video supplied LED screens, media servers and control for the special Freak Out All Night Dance Party event at this year’s Montreux Jazz Festival in Switzerland. XL Video specified more than 70 square meters of their Pixled F-11 LED, which formed the flown screens above the stage and a front piece for the DJ booth.

Projectiondesign Supplies Rockheim Music Museum

Trondheim, NORWAY – Rockheim gives visitors insight into the history of Norwegian popular music and culture through a series of interactive spaces and exhibits. Located inside a converted grain warehouse, Rockheim allocates each of its six floors to a different era from the 1950s until the present day, and incorporating a live music stage. Projectors from Norway’s projectiondesign have been used in many areas of the facility – specifically in the areas dedicated to the 1960s, 1980s and 2000s, as well as in a ‘Tribute Wall.’

WATCHOUT Greets Visitors to Alexandria Center for Life Science

NEW YORK CITY – Niles Creative Group used Dataton WATCHOUT multi-image presentation software for a 50 ft by 5 ft high digital video display in the foyer of The Alexandria Center for Life Science in New York City. The display is made up of 34 seamless LCD panels with content managed by Dataton WATCHOUT and servers supplied by Show Sage. Medialon handles the show control. Said David Niles, “We designed the content delivery system and its respective technology to mirror the innovation in science and talent that the center provides.”

PLASA 2012 Opens This Sunday

LONDON – With a new location announced for next year, PLASA 2012 opens its doors for the last time at the Earls Court Exhibition Centre on Sunday, Sept. 9.
