WorldStage Supports Vibrant Design on CBS Series ‘The Job’

NEW YORK – When the new reality competition series “The Job” debuts on CBS early in 2013 studio segments will showcase lighting design by Christopher Landy of Vibrant Design LLC with support from WorldStage. Set inside the Grand Ballroom at the Manhattan Center, the challenge was to handle the intense production schedule of 10 shows during Superstorm Sandy.

NEW ORLEANS –  Green Hippo Hippotizer media servers were widely used throughout the recent Super Bowl festivities in New Orleans: from the Pepsi Halftime Show featuring Beyoncé to a variety of events including the NFL main stage and press conferences, the Pepsi Smash Tailgate Party, the Direct TV Beach Bowl, and the Budweiser NFL Festival. TMB provided support.

LightConverse Software Saves Time at Moscow’s MuzTV Awards

MOSCOW – The 10th anniversary 2012 Muz TV Awards, held at the Olimpisky Stadium in Moscow, provided a backdrop to demonstrate the capabilities of LightConverse 3D Show Platform software and server hardware in action. The software was used throughout the virtual design process for preliminary mapping visualization and projector placement using exact 3-D models of the actual show. This saved days, if not more, of expensive venue time.

Pete’s Big TVs Provides ‘BET Honors’ Video Support

NEW CASTLE, DE – Video equipment rental company Pete’s Big TVs provided 330 high resolution LED video screens, along with projectors, monitors and crew for the 2013 BET Honors at the Warner Theatre in Washington, DC. The LED video panels used are audibly silent and electrically silent, so there was no interference with any wireless devices in the production. The show airs Feb. 11 on BET.

Avolites Ai Media Server Hits Vegas NYE Jackpot

LAS VEGAS – Avolites Media’s Ai media server has powered a 3D video mapping experience at one of Las Vegas’ biggest New Year’s Eve parties. The Ai media server mapped graphics projected onto three giant structures for the 2000-strong party at the Aria Resort to welcome in 2013. PRG’s Vickie Claiborne chose the media server for its ability to work with 3D mapping and to handle multiple projection devices internally.

Elation Helps MTV Ring in New Year

NEW YORK – MTV’s New Year’s Eve celebration overlooking Times Square featured a set design by NYC-based AWB Design and Elation Professional’s EPV762 MH moving head LED video panels, supplied by LMG Nashville. Production designer Anthony Bishop of AWB collaborated with LMG’s Ken Gay to create the environment that worked for the live audience as well as for the cameras.

Inc. Magazine Profiles Pete’s Big TVs for Springsteen Tour

NEW CASTLE, DE – Video equipment rental company Pete’s Big TVs was profiled by national business magazine Inc. for its involvement in Bruce Springsteen & The E Street Band’s 2012 tour. The article, entitled “The Entrepreneurs Behind Bruce Springsteen,” features a quick history on Pete’s Big TVs and the video equipment and crew they provided for the US, UK and European tour in 2012. The article in the December/January issue is still on some newsstands. The article capped off Pete’s Big TVs busiest year in its 25-year history.

TAMPA, FL and COLUMBUS, OH — Daktronics (Brookings, SD) has provided new integrated video, scoring and audio systems for hockey venues this season, including one of the largest HD center-hung display configurations at the Tampa Bay Times Forum for the Tampa Bay Lightning (pictured left) and a significant upgrade to Nationwide Arena for the Columbus Blue Jackets (pictured below).

Obama Inauguration Visuals Include GoVision Screens

WASHINGTON, DC – For the third time, GoVision LED screens provided visual support for a presidential inauguration ceremony. For the public ceremony staged Jan. 21, five mobile LED screens – including a high-definition mobile LED unit – were positioned on both sides of the U.S. Capitol’s steps, and at the head of the National Mall. CNN also contracted with GoVision to construct a 10 by 17 foot modular LED screen for its broadcast set, pictured here.

XL Events Assist ‘Django Unchained’ UK Premiere

LONDON – In the week the movie was nominated for five Oscars, the UK premiere of director Quentin Tarantino’s latest film Django Unchained took place in London’s Leicester Square. XL Events supplied the visual elements for the ‘red-carpet’ arrivals including Tarantino and stars Jamie Foxx and Samuel L. Jackson.

Fox Sports Studio Adds Spyders for Content Feeds

LOS ANGELES – Vista Systems’ Spyders are at the core of a Fox Sports Media Group studio in Century City, CA, where the NFL on Fox, UFC on Fox, College Football Saturday and soccer coverage are produced.  The Spyders feed seven different monitor walls and are used to route images to the appropriate wall.  The network needs to easily create different presets and scaling and the Spyders facilitate changing presets in the middle of a live show.
