Moment Factory Collaborates in LAX’s Multimedia Environment

LOS ANGELES – Moment Factory was commissioned by Los Angeles World Airports (LAWA) to work in collaboration with Marcela Sardi of Sardi Design and Mike Rubin of MRA International as the executive multimedia content producer for seven iconic media features at the New Tom Bradley International Terminal (TBIT) at Los Angeles International Airport (LAX). The overall objective is to enhance the passenger experience and bring back the romance and magic of travel.

Merging Technologies and Dataton at Venice Biennale

PUIDOUX, Switzerland – A complex multiscreen projection set to run for five months in a national pavilion at one of the world’s most prestigious art events – the Venice Biennale – had to work and it had to work well. Scandinavian rental and installation company, Informationsteknik, proposed Dataton’s Watchout as the solution to the playback on five screens but dealing with 11 channels of audio and one screen in 5.1.

PMP, Vivitek Create 3-D Art Install

ORLANDO – Pearl Media Productions (PMP), a producer of immersive experiences, and Vivitek Corporation, a manufacturer of visual presentation products, collaborated with artist James Peterson to create a 3-D projection of an aquatic creature, which was featured at InfoComm 2013. Titled Aqua Illuminata, this 3-D art installation projection showcased the versatility and clarity of Vivitek’s projectors, while at the same time demonstrating PMP’s 3D projection expertise.

LOS ANGELES – Hollywood superstar Tom Cruise appeared April 10 at Los Angeles’ Dolby Theatre to attend the premiere of his new film, “Oblivion.” The stage background at the premiere used Absen’s A5 LED display, covering a total display area of 30 sq. m.

LONDON – XL Video renews its long standing working relationship with Depeche Mode supplying cameras, control, LED screens and crew to the band who have just kicked off the first UK and European leg of their ‘Delta Machine’ world tour. Video has played a defining role in their stage shows over the years through the influence of their inspirational artistic director, Anton Corbijn.

Christie Engages Participants at T.I.N.Y Multimedia Exhibit

NEW YORK CITY –  At the Marina at Pier 57, Christie M-Series HD projectors are helping visitors “travel” through New York City by creating a multisensory experience for The Interactive New York (T.I.N.Y) exhibition, an interactive multimedia art installation by video artist Garson Yu. The exhibit is inspired by New York City as a living organism, and will let visitors interact with video and sound reminiscent of traveling in the city.

GoVision Provides LED Unit for West, TX Benefit Event

WEST, TX  – Nearly two months after a catastrophic fertilizer plant explosion killed 15 people, injured more than 200 and destroyed structures in West, TX, the Dallas Mavericks and FOX Sports Southwest staged a major event in West on June 15 to support the restoration effort. To ensure that residents had a front-row view of the action, the Mavericks asked GoVision to provide one of its mobile LED units for the festivities. The Argyle, TX-based company sent a 9 ft x 16 ft “GoBig” LED screen, comprised of Daktronics PST-16HD tiles, to ensure that all could see the festivities.

NEW CASTLE, DE – Video equipment rental company Pete’s Big TVs is supplying the complete video equipment package – LED screens, cameras and crew – for the Backstreet Boys reunion tour, which celebrates 20 years of the group with all five original members. The Backstreet Boys kicked off their “In A World Like This” tour May 25 in China.

NASHVILLE — The Nashville Sounds enhanced the fan experience during a recent night game by using lightweight and flexible LED video curtain panels manufactured by PixelFLEX. With more than 3,000 fans in attendance for Music Industry Night, a popular promotional event scheduled several times a season that features a pre-game musical performance, the Sounds kept fans in the action throughout the game by delivering video and player information across the PixelFLEX panels in right-centerfield.

WorldStage Supports ‘Lucky Guy’ on Broadway

NEW YORK – Joining the long list of Broadway credits for WorldStage is “Lucky Guy,” Nora Ephron’s play about tabloid journalist and Pulitzer Prize-winner Mike McAlary, which stars Tom Hanks in his Broadway debut.  WorldStage provides video support for the drama. Video projection plays a key role in the play helping to establish a sense of time – it spans a 12-year period – and location, including newsrooms, bars and the streets of New York during the 1980s and ‘90s.  Projection designer Robin Silvestri, creative director/partner in Batwin + Robin, worked with director George C. Wolfe to develop images composed of film noir-style fragments, shadows and elements rather than literal video clips.
