Pete’s Big TVs is again supplying a full video HD production system for the show, and enhanced its production values over last year’s tour. They’re providing newer LED technology, and more screens in larger sizes.
PHOENIX — LED3 worked with Pro Sound & Video to provide a video display system that would entertain and inform fans of the Arizona Cardinals while tailgating at the NFL franchise’s home stadium here, University Phoenix Stadium. The 8.2 by 14.8 foot, 7mm screen from Absen was chosen for its high resolution, durability and easy operation along with its ability to perform in intense sunlight.
AMSTERDAM — XL Video collaborated with Ogle Hog to support the visuals for the 2013 MTV Europe Music Awards, which were staged at the Ziggo Dome here on Nov. 10 and featured a UFO-style structure above a spherical stage. XL provided nearly 800 square meters of various LED surfaces, video projections and creative/scenic LED elements plus control and 12 crew. Wieder Design provided the production design and Guido Ruysschaert served as project manager for the event.
NEW YORK — Barneys New York, which got an assist for the 2012 holiday season from Christie, once again turned to the company for visual solutions ranging from Christie projectors, MicroTiles and HD flat panel monitors for the retailer’s 2013 holiday promotion, titled “A New York Holiday.”
IBIZA, Spain — Dave Singleton from The Shop Ibiza, who served as production manager for Ibiza’s BOOOM! Nightclub for the summer 2013 season, got Steve Warren from Avolites Media involved in the club’s ambitious visual design. Powered by a single Ai media server, the club offered guests multiple surface projections and LED screens.
MANCHESTER, U.K. — A multi-year touring production of the musical Wicked is slated to visit venues in the U.K. and Ireland into 2015 with visual support from Creative Technology (CT), which has also supported the musical production at London’s West End over a seven-year span.
ORLANDO — The Christ For All Nations (CFaN) Ministry staged two big events at the Amway Center here recently. XL Video UK and its U.S. operation, XL Video Inc., pooled resources to support the visual design with LED screens, Catalyst control and crew.
LOS ANGELES — For their co-headlining slot alongside Kelly Clarkson on the 12th annual Honda Civic Tour earlier this year, Maroon 5 performed in venues across the U.S. and Canada with a visual assist from two customized Avolites Media Ai Infinity servers. The servers had six HDSDI inputs and four DVI outputs for HD camera feeds and LED screen visuals. The tour ran from Aug. 1 to Oct. 6, 2013.
NEW YORK — During New York’s Fashion Week in September, WorldStage provided AV support for an interactive video promotion for the 3.1 Phillip Lim for Target collection. The project was dubbed “Stylescape” and featured large-format video content from Mother NY. Audio, Video and Controls (AV&C) designed the media and interaction systems and software.
DALLAS — For a new $135 million expansion project that includes a new church campus in downtown Dallas, the First Baptist Dallas megachurch turned to AV provider Burst and Clair Brothers for a system that includes a 142-foot curved projection screen and Barco’s HDF-W22 large venue projectors.
