JOHNSTON, IA — For a 3,500-square-foot exhibition space within the twelfth DuPont Innovation Center, which opened here June 25, AVI Systems provided a digital display wall built with a 10-by-5-unit (WxH) configuration of Christie MicroTiles. VIPs at the center’s grand opening included DuPont’s president and governor of Iowa.
Bryan Ferry Tours U.K. with Chauvet Professional Video Panels
LONDON — OneBigStar Ltd, which provided the video, lighting and rigging for Bryan Ferry’s summer Jazz Age tour through Europe, also supported the artist’s round of U.K. performances, which wrapped up in late November. The set featured a video wall backdrop comprised of 36 PVP S7 video panels from Chauvet Professional.

The Integrated Environmental Media System (IEMS) there incorporates seven media features with approximately 9,600 square feet of combined active display area, designed by Marcela Sardi of Sardi Design.
Jessie J “Alive” Tour Includes CT Video System Powered by Avolites Media Servers
LONDON — For Jessie J’s Alive Tour, Creative Technology (CT) provided a video system including LED screens (more than 300 Barco MiStrips) and control (Ai Media Servers and a Panasonic 450 mixing system with a multi-viewer output). The mix of prerecorded video content and I-Mag was overseen by Paul Caslin and Steve Price. The Jessie J Alive Tour completed its U.K. leg in November and takes off to America in the New Year for a three-month tour.

PIGEON FORGE, TN — AV Concepts worked with the Dollywood theme park here and Fred Blurton Productions to integrate holographic technology into its first production of Dollywood’s A Christmas Carol as part of the annual annual Smoky Mountain Christmas presented by Humana celebration. Adapted from Charles Dickens’ A Christmas Carol, the show, which debuted Nov. 9, includes four holographic characters.
XL Video Supplies LED for “Eros Snow Globe”
LONDON — The Westminster City Council opted to install a large “snow globe” to protect the Shaftesbury Memorial and Eros statue in Piccadilly Circus. The replica snow globe, designed by Wildstone and constructed by fabric structure experts Architen Landrell, includes an 11-meter inflatable PVC membrane that adds a festive touch to the area while protecting the statue and monument safe.
