WorldStage Provides AV Support for CES 2014 Pre-Conference Keynotes

LAS VEGAS – WorldStage was on hand to support Pedersen Media Group by enhancing the core AV equipment package provided for the CES 2014 Pre-Conference Keynotes held in Las Vegas earlier this year. The coveted first slot was given to new Intel CEO Brian Krzanich. WorldStage has worked with PMG on numerous Intel events in the past, including the Intel Developers Forum (IDF) and Intel’s International Sales & Marketing Conference (ISMC).

Quince Imaging To Transform Barclays Center with Projection Display

NEW YORK – Quince Imaging announced plans to transform the entire basketball court of the Barclays Center into a three-dimensional projection display on April 18. The company has teamed up again with Think Media Inc. to merge Quince’s 3D animations with traditional 2-D video content.

SAN DIEGO – The first-of-its-kind training and simulation experience,  The Jordan Flight Lab, allows fans to interact and train with life-size holographic projections of professional basketball players. AV Concepts designed the holographic content in collaboration with Magnetic Creative, and executed the technological design, specified and overseen by Hologramica.

BARCELONA – XL Video has recently supplied LED and plasma screens and control for two separate events for Taiwanese global technology brand HTC – the first was for their exhibition stand at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, followed shortly after by the high profile London launch of the One M8 flagship smartphone at Olympia.

China’s “Light of Wuxi” Relies on Christie Gear for Projection Mapped Visuals

BEIJING – Christie, and its Chinese partner, Wincomn Technology, helped Wuxi Studio present a 5D show titled Light of Wuxi, the first permanent projection mapping display in China using Christie technology. The light show is presented every Saturday on two buildings and a water screen; the total projected area exceeds 17,000 square feet. The show also uses laser lighting, fire, water jets and musical effects.

2014 Bassmaster Classic Features 270+ LED Tiles

BIRMINGHAM, AL – For the fourth year in a row, Upstage Video partnered with Tallahassee, FL-based Production Support Group to provide LED screens and scenic elements for the Bassmaster Classic Bass Fishing Tournament. This year’s event took place at the Birmingham-Jefferson Convention Complex. The crews assembled more than 270 LED tiles to build five traditional screens, six slanted towers and a “pyramid” that served as the center backdrop to the official Bassmaster Weigh-in.

Gearhouse ICS Supports 15th Cape Town International Jazz Festival

CAPE TOWN – Gearhouse ICS has been busy with the preparation, installation and operation of the Jazz TV element of the 15th Cape Town International Jazz Festival. The video is streamed to screens in the hospitality suites in the Corporate Village, Food Court, Marimba Restaurant, Saxophone Lounge and the stages themselves during breaks. ICS deployed a technical team of 20 to manage the content mix and network operation of Jazz TV, using three ICS media servers supported by high definition media streaming encoders and to provide IT infrastructure backup.

LONDON – XL Video supplied media server mapping and control plus side screens to producers Zibrant LIVE! for the Redken European Symposium event at London Olympia. The fast-moving show was choreographed with pixel-mapped imagery evoking buses, subway cars, taxis and London landmarks. Along with spatial pixel-mapping precision, the cues needed to be executed at the appropriate time as performers would make their movements on the stage.

BEIJING – Christie participated in InfoComm China, held here April 9-11. The booth’s highlights included the Christie Brio, designed to enhance workflow sharing, and the Christie Spyder X20 video processor, which can be used with multiple video wall displays.

CAMBRIDGE, U.K. – The 2014 e-Luminate Festival here netted a second Guinness World Record nod for projection and video artist Ross Ashton. This time it was for the “Largest Card Illusion Reveal.” Ashton collaborated with Italian illusionist Alexis Arts on the project, creating the visuals with a single 17K Panasonic projector rigged onto a specially constructed tower at the end of the lawn in front of the building.

LONDON – XL Video supplied projection and Catalyst control for the recent UK tour by indie rock band Bombay Bicycle Club. Incorporating video into their live tour for the first time, LD Squib took visual influences from the work of photographer Eadweard Muybridge and utilized early stop-motion animation techniques and stylization. With projection being central to the show, two Panasonic PT-DZ21K 20K projectors were utilized, overlaid to optimize the brightness, with the set circles treated as one large surface, and all the content programed in to one of XLs Catalyst media servers.

LAS VEGAS – Christie has joined HDBaseT Alliance and integrated the technology into its Q series projectors allowing for all-in-one connectivity between HD video sources and remote displays through a single cable. Powered by the Valens chipset, HDBaseT has become a global digital connectivity standard with a large and varied product ecosystem that includes video distribution equipment, displays, projectors and AV receivers from more than 90 manufacturers.
