XL Video Provides Projection Gear for Glastonbury’s Shangri La Area

PILTON, U.K. — XL Video supplied creative video projection and control to the Shangri La area at the 2014 Glastonbury Festival of Contemporary Performing Arts here June 25-29, including the Heaven area, which required eight Barco R22 projectors, and the “Pyschotron,” an artwork featuring projections on an 8-meter circular screen mounted in the roof of a geodesic dome.

AMSTERDAM – d3 Technologies’ 4x2Pro Systems were used for projection at The Royal Netherlands Air Force Open Days. As visitors entered the event, they would walk through a 100 meter tunnel, with two 70 meter projection screens on either side immersing them. Each tunnel required 12 projectors on each wall. Specially printed fabric depicting the inside of an aircraft was mounted on the structure with projection holes cut into the fabric.

Nanolumens And ICG Create An Immersive Fan Experience For The Atlanta Falcons

ATLANTA — Even through the new Atlanta Falcons football stadium isn’t scheduled to open until 2017, NanoLumens and ICG have teamed up to create an immersive “sensory surround” curved LED display installation for the stadium’s Preview Center. The installation features a 303” long elliptical LED NanoCurve display that features a 5MM pixel pitch and measures 219” wide and 42-5/8” tall.

FRANKFURT, Germany — Collaborating closely with communication agency The Outlook Creative Group, XL Video supplied video, lighting, sound and associated rigging for a large conference and gala dinner event at the Sheraton Hotel, Frankfurt Airport for one of the world’s leading medical device companies.

Microsoft Xbox Visuals at E3 Press Briefing Rely on d3 Technologies, Chaos Visual

LOS ANGELES – The 20th annual E3 convention for the video game industry took place at the Los Angeles Convention Center here June 10-12, and Microsoft held an elaborate press briefing for its Xbox gaming systems just before the event, June 9, at the Galen Center here. The design team for Microsoft’s Xbox visuals, which used video gear from Chaos Visual Productions, also relied upon a Chaos-supplied d3 setup for visual management. Along with five d3 4U v2.5 units (1 master, 2 slaves, 2 understudies), Chaos provided nine 30K Christie projector (6 active) and three 9mm Winvision LED walls for the event. The design team credited the d3 setup for helping the elaborate visual elements come together within a five-day time frame.

Sun Valley Community Church has been relying on FOR-A switchers for SD and HD video production. The church campus in Tempe, AZ has been using FOR-A’s HVS-300HS since last fall.

CASA GRANDE, AZ – When Sun Valley Community Church, based here, made the jump from SD to HD production in its Gilbert, AZ campus three years ago, the church’s technical crew began using FOR-A’s HVS-300HS video switcher.  Last September, when the church was faced with the decision of purchasing a new switcher for its nearby location in Tempe, they opted for another FOR-A switcher– the HVS-XT100.

Screenworks Launches BigMo Mobile LED Screen with 2014 NHRA Events

CORONA, CA — The 19-by-33-foot BigMo 4 mobile LED display screen matches the size of the biggest mobile display screens currently in use, and with an additional four-foot-wide ad banner framing the perimeter, NEP’s Screenworks is touting the display as the largest mobile LED setup in North America. It was launched with the National Hot Rod Association’s 2014 Mello Yello Drag Racing Series events.

Katy Perry’s Prismatic World Tour Gets PRG Nocturne Support

NEW YORK — To support the larger-than-life looks of Katy Perry’s Prismatic World Tour, show director and designer Baz Halpin worked with a 70’ wide by 34’ tall automated tracking triangular LED video screen as the visual centerpiece. The screen is comprised of 700 PRG Nocturne V-9 Lite LED Video Modules.
