CMT Premieres George Strait’s Final Show as Two-Hour Special with Assist from NEP Screenworks

PITTSBURGH — NEP’s Screenworks teamed with its sister company, NEP’s Denali group, to capture George Strait’s farewell concert, the last stop on his final tour, George Strait: The Cowboy Rides Away. The two NEP companies captured the live event on June 7 with 22 Sony cameras and 42 Ki Pro recorders. That show drew 104,000 to the home stadium of the Dallas Cowboys in Arlington, TX, and the recordings from Screenworks and Denali formed the basis for a two-hour concert special that premiered Aug. 29 on CMT.

PHOENIX – Rudy Tessmer with GO AV, based here, has been using the expanded interoperability of AV products offered by High Resolution Systems to his advantage. High Resolution Systems’ UDC software-based Universal Device Controller (UDC) and UDC 400 support Blackmagic Design products, helping Tessmer automate his Blackmagic Design 2ME ATEM production switcher.

Christie Projection, Support Featured at SIGGRAPH 2014

VANCOUVER, BC – Christie, which served as a Platinum Sponsor for the 41st International SIGGRAPH convention, held here Aug. 10-14, 2014, was involved with many facets of the event, which focuses on computer graphics and interactive technologies. NEW YORK — As part of its Creative Cloud 2014 event, a collective update of its entire line up of desktop and mobile apps for creative professionals, Adobe staged Adobe Connect Now, which debuted the 4K video capabilities of its Premiere editing software platform.  WorldStage provided extensive 4K video and engineering support for the gathering at Lincoln Center’s Alice Tully Hall.

LONDON — Working with conference and event production agency metroConnections, XL Video supplied a large-scale audio-visual solution for the IIA (Institute of Internal Auditors) International Conference at ExCel Centre here. The event, which presented video visuals at a 1,500 delegate main auditorium and included nine breakout rooms in Excel’s Capital Room, took place over three days in early July.

Singapore’s 49th National Day Celebrations Include 40 Christie Projectors

SINGAPORE – Singapore’s 49th National Day celebrations, staged Aug. 9, 2014 at the floating platform at Marina Bay, included ample visual support from Hexogon Solution Pte Ltd, which provided a total of 40 Christie projectors for the occasion. The six Roadster HD18K and 34 Roadster HD20K-J 3-chip DLP projectors were used for a wide range of multimedia content including 3D effects on an 80 by 40 meter projection area. The accompanying show segment featured 5,000 performers.

Southern Theaters’ Movie Tavern Powered By Christie Vive Audio And Solaria Projectors

COVINGTON, LA –  Southern Theatres has completed its second “all Christie” entertainment complex at the new Southern Theatres Movie Tavern 8 in Covington, Louisiana. The eight-screen cinema eatery is powered by Christie Solaria Series projectors and Christie Vive Audio cinema systems, comprised of Christie’s innovative line array wall and ceiling surround speakers.

Bluman Associates Helps Pro-Palestinian Group Project Flag, Slogans on British Houses of Parliament

LONDON – Projection mapping and video content specialists Bluman Associates projected the Palestine flag onto the Houses of Parliament in the early hours of August 1, 2014 to raise awareness of The Palestine Solidarity Campaign (PSC). Bluman worked with the organization to implement the unauthorized projection, which calls for an end to the bloodshed in Gaza, and for sanctions against Israel.
