Off Broadway’s “Bootycandy” Gets Projection Assist from WorldStage

NEW YORK – Bootycandy, written and directed by Robert O’Hara, has kicked off the season at New York City’s Playwrights Horizons with an extended run and a positive review in The New York Times, which called the play “smart and provocative.”  WorldStage provided the projection and playback system for the production.

LAS VEGAS — For EMC World 2014, an IT conference held at the Venetian in Las Vegas May 5-8, LMG provided more than 500 high-resolution 3.9mm LED tiles. They formed a four-sided visual centerpiece for the show – with sides spanning 15 by 23 feet– and displayed live and recorded content from the keynotes and sessions as well as schedules and social media feeds for the event’s 12,500 attendees.

AMSTERDAM — For the 95th anniversary of KLM (Royal Dutch Airlines), The Unit Showcontrol B.V., based here, designed, sequenced, mapped and projected imagery on a passenger plane using 25 projectors using d3 Technologies gear. The design team and crew were able to tackle the project despite the window of time with access to the actual plane was limited to a 24-hour span.

For the nonprofit Branchage Festival, an event pairing live music performances with silent film projection on this Channel Island off France’s northwest Normandy Coast, U.K. projection specialists QED Productions undertook one of their most ambitious projection-mapping challenges yet: to projection-map the seaside environs of St. Aubin's Fort, located on a tidal island connected to the larger island of Jersey at low tide.

LAS VEGAS — Chaos Visual Productions has been supporting the video production needs of the venerable Jubilee! burlesque show at Ballys Las Vegas. The video tech setup now includes 11 Ventuz media servers, 16 Barco projectors and a Lightware MX-FR33R digital crosspoint router with redundant power supplies, built-in control panel and CPU2. The router handles the production’s monitoring and signal distribution needs.

2014 Ryder Cup Gets Video Assist from Creative Technology

AUCHTERARDER, Scotland — The 40th Ryder Cup, held at the Gleneagles Hotel near here Sept. 26-28, got an elaborate video assist from Creative Technology that included 21 LED screens, each ranging in size from 8 to 100 square meters. CT also provided a 16 by 3.5 meter projection screen for the Media Centre and extensive gear and crew for the event’s video processing and broadcast needs.
