Berlin Marks 25 Years of Reunification with LED Screens from WIcreations

BERLIN – Massive yet mobile LED screens supplied by WIcreations served as a key visual focal point for some of the highest-profile celebrations marking 25 years since the Berlin Wall started heading toward the dustbin of history. With help from a custom tracking system, six giant screen columns moved more than 70 meters at Berlin’s Brandenburg Gate, one of several sites where celebrations took place in the once-divided city.  The Brandenburg Gate show visuals, seen before a large crowd, were also picked up via TV coverage Nov. 9, 25 years after the once-inpenetrable wall began to crumble in 1989.

Neil Diamond Concert at London Palladium Gets Visual Support from Creative Technology

LONDON – For a live concert featuring Neil Diamond that was staged at the London Palladium Oct. 14 and taped for a Nov. 13 premiere air date on British TV, Creative Technology provided visual support in the form of an 11.5 by 8.6 meter Spider 30 LED video screen. The 75-minute show, Neil Diamond: One Night Only, was hosted by Rob Brydon, who helped bring the U.K. audience on a retrospective journey back to Diamond’s roots in Brooklyn, NY.

XL Supplies Video Screens for “Never Mind The Buzzcocks”

LONDON – XL Video, working with Production Manager, Sarah Chaloner and Designer, Dominic Tolfts, supplied video projection and plasma screen solutions for studio recordings of Series 28 of the popular TalkBack television show, Never Mind The Buzzcocks. The set includes a number of video elements that are key to the music-based quiz show, which is hosted by Rhod Gilbert. This series is recorded at Stage 9 of Elstree Television Studios and broadcast on BBC2.

Glasgow City Council commissioned The Projection Studio's Ross Ashton and Karen Monid to create a new large-format video projection show, “Glasgow’s War,” on the front of their City Chambers building to commemorate the centenary of the First World War.

Large-Format Projection Brings “Glasgow’s War” to Life

GLASGOW, Scotland – Glasgow City Council commissioned The Projection Studio’s Ross Ashton and Karen Monid to create a new large-format video projection show, “Glasgow’s War,” on the front of their City Chambers building to commemorate the centenary of the First World War. The 27 minute show, portraying World War I from a Glasgow perspective, involved meticulous research. Ashton’s visuals were accompanied by a soundtrack by Monid.

Welsh Film, TV Awards Program Gets Assist from XL Video

CARDIFF, U.K. — XL Video supplied LED screens and control for the 2014 BAFTA Cymru Awards. The event, held Oct. 26 at the Millennium Centre here, honors TV and film production in Wales. Show producer, Jonathan Davies and production designer David Marson turned to XL Video for the event’s 15-by-4.2 meter (49-by-14-foot) LED screen, which was assembled using a combination of XL’s ROE MC-18T and MC-7T LED video screen panels.

NASHVILLE – For the 45th annual Dove Awards held at Lipscomb University, the Gospel Music Association partnered with Elite Multimedia Productions to provide all of the video aspects for a diverse lineup of gospel and Christian music artists. Producers Scott and Julie DeVos of De Lux Productions contracted Elite Multimedia to provide LED video walls and projectors for the award show that was hosted by Christian music artists Bart Millard of MercyMe and Lecrae.

LONDON — The annual Barclaycard Mercury Prize awards ceremony, which honors 12 of the best albums from the UK and Ireland released during the year, turned to Creative Technology (CT) for a video production assist for the 15th year. The 23rd annual event, held at the Roundhouse here, was hosted by Nick Grimshaw, and best album went to Young Fathers.

NanoLumens and PartnerTech to Install Large Scale LED Video Screens in Canadian Shopping Malls

ATLANTA — NanoLumens and PartnerTech, both based in the Atlanta area, are teaming up to provide more than a dozen large-format LED screens (20 to 27 feet wide) for malls across Canada.  NanoLumens president/CEO Rick Cope noted that the two companies have teamed up before to help get large screens installed in other places including NBA basketball arenas, train stations, convention centers and more.

Russian Visual Artists Use d3 for New Shopping Mall in Moscow

MOSCOW – Russian Visual Artists have used d3 to design and deliver the LED video treatment for Vegas, a new shopping center in Crocus City, Moscow. d3 was chosen based on the simplicity of the d3 production suite and several key features such as mapping, flexible output options, the rapid development of the software and the option to easily build in an understudy in case of hardware failure.
