Union Station Grand Hall in St. Louis Using Christie Gear for Projection Mapped Attraction

ST. LOUIS, MO –  Christie’S 4K 3DLP projectors were chosen for a large-scale, immersive projection mapping attraction within the historic Grand Hall in St. Louis Union Station. The building, first opened in 1894, now features a new hotel, as well as bars, restaurants and shops, and continues drawing people downtown thanks to Lodging Hospitality Management (LHM), which bought the building several years ago.

NEW CASTLE, DE – Video equipment rental company Pete’s Big TVs has added new technology to its rental stock, including the digiLED LightSlice.  The LightSlice will be on display at LDI at digiLED USA’s booth #872 at the Las Vegas Convention Center. Pete’s Big TVs’ Peter Daniel and Anne Johnston will welcome attendees there on Friday, Oct. 23.

Kobryn Communications Selects FOR-A Video Switcher for Flypack Use

ORLANDO, FL – Rental and staging company Kobryn Communications (KCI) creates durable flypack road systems for live events throughout North America. Already a FOR-A user who owns the HVS-390HS switcher, KCI recently selected FOR-A’s HVS-2000 as its video switcher of choice for a 3G-compliant flypack. The HVS-2000-equipped system was first put through its paces during a production in August, and KCI has been relying on the unit for productions ever since.

Martin P3-PC System Controller Now Integrates with Hippotizer Media Servers

Martin’s P3-PC System Controller can now be seamlessly integrated with Green Hippo’s Hippotizer media servers, according to Harman. The move will let users install the P3-PC software directly onto any Green Hippo media server running the Hippotizer V4 software, effectively enabling the media server to output the Martin P3 protocol.

POTTSTOWN, PA — Although the decision on “LED vs. Projection” for corporate events has always been influenced by what video gear is available, and at what cost, a proliferation of lower-cost, higher-resolution LED video options may be shifting the debate somewhat. While acknowledging that his company “mainly focuses on LED displays,” and that he “may be biased towards LED,” Upstage Video owner Doug Murray invited two other rental and staging industry professionals, Scott Williams from Quince Imaging and Brian Brooks from MB Video Productions, for their potentially contrasting views.
