Gemini supplied 448 Elation EPT6IP LED video panels

Elation Lighting and Video for National Cheerleading Association All-Star National Championship

DALLAS – For the National Cheerleading Association All-Star National Championship, held Feb. 19-21 at the Kay Bailey Hutchison Convention Center, Dallas-based Gemini Light, Sound & Video supplied lighting and video gear. For the event’s large upstage LED screen, Gemini supplied 448 Elation EPT6IP LED video panels. The 6.7mm pixel pitch LED screen measured  58.8 by 33.6 feet, WxH. The event was also televised nationally on the CBS Sports Network.

LUOYANG, China – Luoyang city, China’s former imperial capital during the Sui (589-618 AD) and Tang dynasties (618-907 AD), is now a major tourist destination, with the Sui and Tang Luoyang City National Heritage Park near its center. Along with full-scale replicas of the Ming Tang and Tian Tang towers, the park features a table model to provide a miniature 3D look at the old city’s layout. Christie GS Series laser phosphor projectors are used for backdrop projections to give the tabletop city a life-like feel.

Elton John’s “All the Hits” World Tour Included Blackmagic Design Gear

SYDNEY – Sir Elton John’s “All the Hits” world tour traveled with a video setup that included Blackmagic Design’s Micro Studio Camera 4K (pictured here) and Video Assist. They were used for live video feeds and video introductions. Blackmagic Design Teranex Mini, UltraStudio Express and DaVinci Resolve Studio were also used for concert production on the tour, which wrapped up late last year in Sydney, Australia.

NEW YORK Josh and Jason Diamond from VR company SuperSphere used nine Blackmagic Design Micro Studio Camera 4Ks and nine Video Assists for fashion brand Chromat’s Fall/Winter 2016 runway show during New York Fashion Week. The Blackmagic Design gear was used for SuperSphere’s 360Design “Diamond EYE” setup to capture 360-degree shots of the models walking down the runway.

TORONTO – When the National Hockey League’s Toronto Maple Leafs step onto the Air Canada Centre ice for each home game, they are greeted by a celebration of their rich history with a stunning on-ice projection mapping display. Installed by Solotech, the 12 Christie  Roadster WU20K-J projectors are stacked in six sets of two around the arena and help celebrate a team with 13 Stanley Cup titles and its ‘Leaf Nation’ fan base.

Oklahoma Church Using ArKaos Media Server for Easter-Themed Projections

TULSA, OK  – Tim Ottley, Lighting Director for Asbury United Methodist Church, Tulsa, has been using ArKaos’ MediaMaster PRO on an ArKaos PRO Stadium Server to create immersive projection mapping visuals within the interior of the church. Working with a graphic designer, Jason Yang, of Invisible Element, Ottley created an animated narrative of the Easter story as an introduction to the service that followed.

Swedish manufacturer, Volvo, were there to reveal their latest model. Mediatec supported a reveal for the new vehicle using CreateLED’s AirMAG-3x.

NANJING, China – One of China’s major broadcasters, the Jiangsu TV studio in Nanjing, is using eyevis technology within a brand-new, state-of-the art media center. The two video walls are comprised of a total of 48 eyevis 60-inch DLP rear projection cubes (type EC-60-LHD-1000). The eyevis cubes were installed in the two video walls in 6×4 and in 8×3 configurations. Both video walls will be used to deliver background content during broadcasts as well as showing live news feeds from outside broadcasts, media content and interviews with audiences and other guests.

Mumford & Sons Gets Blackmagic Design Assist for Shows in South Africa

CAPE TOWN, South Africa – Blackmagic Design has today announced that Mumford and Sons six show tour of South Africa, directed by Steve Price, featured a live to screen fiber optic workflow incorporating Blackmagic’s studio cameras, ATEM 1 M/E Production Studio 4K and HyperDeck Studio Pro. For the band’s first ever tour of South Africa, promoter Hilltop Live approached local specialists Militia Broadcast, with nearly 150 live shows under their belt, about supplying the IMAG projection, PPU, camera packages and crew during the band’s Cape Town, Durban and Pretoria gigs.
