GoVision to Unleash ‘Colossus’ on Bristol Motor Speedway

ARGYLE, TX – This is big. No seriously…this is HUGE! Bristol Motor Speedway will soon be home to the world’s largest outdoor, permanent, center-hung digital display. Fittingly named “Colossus,” the screen – comprised of 8,694 square-feet of state-of-the-art digiLED Toura 6mm LED panels – will give race fans an unprecedented audio-visual experience when it debuts later this month.

LONDON – Mariah Carey is a musician that rarely needs any introduction after two decades in music and a collection of much-loved classics. At the start of March, the singer began her European tour, Sweet Sweet Fantasy, by returning to the UK after 13 years away. Working for the production team behind the tour, Creative Technology (CT) supplied seven Panasonic projectors which were used to feed playback content onto a number of upstage panels, all driven by Photon. The panels were able to move across the stage with the projection tracking and following the movements.

In one of the most unusual and welcome innovations in modern air travel, Dallas Love Field is teaming with North Texas businesses and the Texas Music Project to bring rising stars and established Texas artists alike to a new performance stage in the lobby of the airport’s main terminal. The stage, which debuted Monday, April 4, is positioned inside the secure area, near the food court.

Christie to Feature New Gear at ISC West 2016 in Las Vegas

LAS VEGAS – Christie will be displaying the latest video wall solutions for the physical security industry at ISC West 2016 in Las Vegas, Nevada.  The event will take place at the Sands Expo and Convention Center from April 6-8, 2016. Christie will feature solutions including the Christie Phoenix system and Phoenix Quad-T encoder (pictured here); a side-by-side comparison of Entero HB 70-inch HD front access display cubes and Christie Velvet Merit Series 1.5mm LED tiles; and both 98-inch and 55-inch LCD flat panels.

VER Opens New York City Camera Prep Facility

NEW YORK – VER opened a camera prep facility in New York City, the company’s third such facility on the East Coast. (Similar facilities in Atlanta and Miami opened May and November 2015, respectively). A new prep facility is planned to open in Los Angeles in April 2016. All are designed to meet the specific needs of cinema and television professionals.

RIO DE JANEIRO, Brazil – For Ernst & Young Brasil’s lavish Entrepreneur of the Year award ceremony, staged on Ilha Fiscal, an island in Rio’s Guanabara Bay, organizers turned to Brazil-based Hoffmann for projection-mapped imagery that set the small island’s main structure, a Gothic Revival building, aglow. Hoffmann utilized a pair of d3 Technologies’ 4x4pro media servers to manage the projected digital content.

Cole Swindell Tour Backed by Elite Multimedia Lighting, Video and Custom Cart Setup

NASHVILLE – James “Mo” Butts once again designed the looks for rising country star Cole Swindell, this time for the artist’s first big headlining tour.  Butts turned to Elite Multimedia for a high-impact show with lighting, video and a custom set cart designed to fit within a single truck for travel. The video setup includes 32 FLEXLite 6.9mm LED Panels and two PixelFLEX SU-401 master controllers.
