KUSI-TV Using Hitachi Kokusai Z-HD6000 Cameras for HD News Production

SAN DIEGO — San Diego television station KUSI-TV has deployed five Z-HD6000 HDTV studio production cameras from Hitachi Kokusai Electric America Ltd. to enhance image quality and operational versatility for the broadcaster’s live news productions. When the first-generation HD cameras used in its news studio became time-consuming and costly to maintain, KUSI-TV Chief Engineer Fred Swift sought replacements that would also improve the visual quality of their news productions.

LONDON – A promotional film for the 2016 BBC Proms, an eight-week summer season of daily orchestral classical music concerts and other events that starts on July 15, features performance artist and cellist Sol Gabetta debuting her performance of Elgar’s Cello Concerto in E minor. It also features video imagery projection-mapped onto the surface of Gabetta’s cello, the smallest surface area that the team at 59 Productions has ever mapped.

LILLEHAMMER, Norway — The Norwegian Olympic Museum, launched in Feb. 2016 by the Queen of Norway at a prestigious ceremony, features unique video installations, curated exhibits of cultural and historic artefacts and Olympic memorabilia. A unique draw is Lysgaardsbakkene, roughly translated as “Jump Hills,” a large-scale circular raised-platform interactive feature measuring 3.5 meters in diameter. Local systems integrator Bright Norway achieved a true to life interactive presentation using AV Stumpfl Wings Engine Raw uncompressed 4K media servers and Wings VIOSO calibration software to manage and warp native video content across 4 edge-blended projectors.

Analog Way Americas Grand Opening Makes Use of PixelFLEX FLEXCurtain LED Video Screen

ATLANTA – HWPco supported the grand opening of Analog Way Americas’ Atlanta-area headquarters recently, using FLEXCurtain LED video technology from Nashville-based PixelFLEX. The LED screens helped transform Analog Way’s 6,000 square foot warehouse space into an engaging environment for invited guests. The setup included FLEXCurtain screens divided into three sections measuring a total of 30 by 10 feet (WxH). The screen panels were hung from a truss structure rigged to the warehouse roof.

CHAGRIN FALLS, OH – When Parkside Church in Chagrin Falls, Ohio decided to renovate their sanctuary, they had a very specific goal. “Our pastor’s vision for the remodel was ‘Building Into the Next Generation,'” states Parkside’s Technical Director Bruce Coffy. “We wanted to make sure that what we implemented would extend us well into the future.” Part of the renovation was replacing the video display system in the sanctuary. Therefore, with the guidance of their AVL consultant Idibri (Dallas, TX), Parkside chose an Aeson LED video display solution-but with a twist.
