Coldplay Tours with Visuals Assist from Avolites Ai Media Servers

CHICAGO For Coldplay’s current stadium tour, A Head Full of Dreams, video director Ben Miles chose to work with British manufacturer Avolites and Avolites’ Ai media server distributor and technical specialist RES (Realtime Environment Systems) to design what he describes as ‘the ultimate video system’ for the British rockers. The band performed four shows (June 15, 16, 18 and 19) at London’s Wembley Stadium, pictured here.

Sono Uses Christie Boxer Projectors for Mapped Projection on Spanish Monastery

SALAMANCA, Spain — In 1524, the Dominican Order built the Monastery of San Esteban in Salamanca, a building combining Gothic and Baroque styles with a Plateresque façade. Nearly 500 years later, this façade was mapped for the Festival de Luz y Vanguardias held earlier this year for the first time. Three Christie Boxer 4K30 projectors, managed by the rental and staging company Sono, lit up the façade with an impressive mapped projection, makeing use of a combined  90,000 lumens of projected light.

STOCKHOLM, Sweden – The Mall of Scandinavia near the center of Stockholm features DEX, a ceiling-mounted, 65-meter-long light sculpture made from 3,800 LED strips. Each of the LED strips has 64 individually controllable pixels. London-based video architecture firm BAJT created the volumetric content for DEX using d3’s creative suite, the Notch realtime 3D engine and Autodesk 3ds Max 3D animation software.

Kiss 108 Summer Concert near Boston Uses ECLPS-supplied Elation EPT6IP LED Displays

MANSFIELD, MA For Boston-based radio station Kiss 108’s summer concert, staged June 18 at Xfinity Center, East Coast Lighting & Production Services, Inc. (ECLPS) provided Elation Professional’s EPT6IP LED video panels. The screens gave the crowds a closer look at performances by a lineup that included Halsey, Flo Rida, Charlie Puth, The Chainsmokers, Iggy Azalea and Nelly, and they were also used to feature a variety of custom content. ECLPS supplied all of the lighting and video products for the annual summer event.

The installation makes use of 15 AV Stumpfl’s Wings VIOSO software packages for calibration and projection mapping, 15 Wings VIOSO servers for playback of high-resolution content, Wings Touch for simplified operation and Wings Avio Manager for system control and communication between system components.

Elaborate Projection Feature at Shopping Mall in Berlin Makes Use of AV Stumpfl Technologies

BERLIN, Germany – AV Stumpfl’s multimedia and presentation technology was installed to support an elaborate AV feature within Berlin’s shopping center, Das Schloss. The project took two years for design and planning, two months for installation and two weeks just to set up. F1 Gesellschaft für Informationstechnologien und Managementberatung mbH, working in collaboration with VIOSO GmbH, installed 15 AV Stumpfl’s Wings VIOSO software packages for calibration and projection mapping, 15 Wings VIOSO servers for playback of high-resolution content, Wings Touch for simplified operation and Wings Avio Manager for system control and communication between system components.

LED Visuals at Shanghai’s MYTH Electronic Music Festival Managed by d3 4x4pro Media Servers

SHANGHAI – China’s biggest indie record label Modern Sky got into the EDM game with the two-stage, two day MYTH Electronic Music Festival in Shanghai. The lineup includes Diplo, Goldie, Knife Party, Dexter King among others. d3 Studio partner Live Legends, under their Chinese brand United Live Creations, provided comprehensive creative and technical services for the festival. Using d3, United Live Creations handled everything from concept to execution for the festival, which showcased 40 local and international DJs.

Square Enix and Capcom Carve Unique Niches at E3 Show with Assist from Kenwood Experiences

SAN FRANCISCO – The Electronic Entertainment Expo, commonly referred to as E3, took place at the Los Angeles Convention Center from June 14-16. It was the 22nd year this convention has catered to the video game industry. Approximately 50,300 people attended the event and got to be hands on with much of the new gear. Kenwood Experiences, an award-winning experiential marketing agency in San Francisco, CA, created breathtaking booths for clients Square Enix and Capcom.

Jennifer Lopez Uses Upstage Video LED Floor for Today Show’s Concert Stage

NEW YORK – It was a special morning on July 11, 2016 for the people gathered around Rockefeller Center to see Jennifer Lopez and Lin-Manuel Miranda’s collaborative performance of “Love Make the World Go Round” on the Today Show Summer Concert Series. Families of over 50 victims and survivors from the mass shooting at Pulse Nightclub in Orlando were invited to the show for a tribute displaying love and support for lives lost in the tragedy last month.

The pop-up stadium featured a massive 30-by-54-foot LED wall comprised of lightweight GV6mm panels, as well as more than 80 feet of ultra-light GV10CF LED ribbon board, all provided by GoVision L.P.

FORT BRAGG, NC – Baseball parks across the nation were ablaze in red, white and blue last weekend as patriotic fans celebrated the nation’s 240th Independence Day. But Major League Baseball wanted to stage something uniquely special to honor America’s men and women in uniform, and GoVision was there to help. MLB hired Toronto-based BaAM Productions to construct a temporary 12,500-seat ballpark on an abandoned golf course at Fort Bragg, which was the setting for the July 3 game between the Atlanta Braves and Florida Marlins. The Salute-the-Troops game is believed to be the first regular-season Major League game ever played at a military installation.

RALEIGH, NC – American Singer-Songwriter Ray LaMontagne is on tour with his sixth studio album, Ouroboros. The new album features the single “No Pressure” and attributes production from Jim James of My Morning Jacket. The 2016 North American Tour travels throughout 45 cities, some including Los Angeles, Nashville, and Brooklyn.
