Quince Imaging’s Projections Enhance Halftime Show for NFL Vikings’ Season Opener in New Stadium

MINNEAPOLIS – On Sept. 18, the Minnesota Vikings kicked off their first home game of the 2016 NFL season at their newly constructed home field, the U.S. Bank Stadium in Minneapolis.  To honor the groundbreaking season opener, a special Minnesota themed halftime event was orchestrated to invigorate fans and bolster hometown pride. The plan was to pay tribute to late hometown popstar and lifelong Vikings fan, Prince.  The halftime show tribute would include a visual montage of Prince’s career highlights projected digitally across the stadium field as the Minnesota Orchestra and gospel group, The Steeles performed Prince’s iconic hit, Purple Rain.  Quince Imaging provided the in-stadium projections.

Airport in Turkmenistan Launched with Visual Support from FIX8Group

ASHGABAT, Turkmenistan – Visual production company FIX8Group recenlty managed and delivered a complex projection and content management project for an event staged by Turkish construction group Polimeks for the Government of Turkmenistan to launch the country’s new international airport. FIX8Group sent in one of its top projection mapping teams for the 10-day project, which culminated in a mixed media spectacular that centered around Turkmenistan culture and history. The event took place Sept. 17 at Ashgabat Stadium and was attended by more than 20,000.

NASHVILLE – One of the first projects for mobile production specialist TNDV’s recently-launched Exclamation truck was also one of the company’s biggest shows logistically in its 13-year history, as it provided turnkey services for General Assembly 2016 (“GA16”), the flagship event of Cleveland, Tennessee-headquartered Church of God. TNDV managed all elements including video, audio, lighting, staging and crews for the 22-camera production, which spanned four locations spread across two floors of the Music City Center in Nashville.

Perfect World Entertainment Upgrades Live Streaming with Blackmagic Design

MANCHESTER, U.K.- Blackmagic Design noted that the European division of Perfect World Entertainment implemented a live production solution making use of Blackmagic’s Micro Studio Camera 4K, ATEM Production Studio 4K and HyperDeck Studio 12G. Based out of Amsterdam in the Netherlands, Perfect World’s European office also upgraded its streaming capabilities using Blackmagic Design.

Sonos Location in NYC Accented with PixelFLEX

NASHVILLE,– Founded in 2002, Sonos was created to fill every home with music, and the whole home audio system is now sold in more than 60 countries. With its recent decision to open a retail location of its own in New York City, General Manager of Stores Whitney Walker was asked to oversee the creation of a unique listening experience in which customers could discover Sonos just as they would in the comfort of a friend’s home. Needing a finishing accent for the downstairs lounge, Walker called upon Rethink Innovations to help create a warm and engaging 30-foot fireplace display, and they did so using FLEXLite 6.9mm LED video technology from Nashville-based PixelFLEX.

Miami’s New World Symphony Prepares for a 4K Future with Hitachi Cameras

MIAMI — Hitachi Kokusai Electric America Ltd., based in Woodbury, NY, has partnered with New World Symphony, an orchestral academy based in Miami Beach, to help transition the live production of its world-renowned outdoor Wallcast concert experiences and other productions to native 4K UHD resolution. Along with Christie projectors, the Hitachi SK-UHD4000 cameras represent the first phase of an end-to-end 4K video infrastructure upgrade at the New World Center, campus of the New World Symphony.

Christie Teams with Evans & Sutherland on First True8K Digital Dome Demo in Toronto Oct. 7

TORONTO – Christie and Evans & Sutherland are key sponsors of the annual Giant Screen Cinema Association trade show (GSCA), now taking place (Oct. 4-7) in Toronto. On Friday, Oct. 7, from 9 a.m. until noon, Christie and Evans & Sutherland will hold the first True8K Digital Dome Demo at the Ontario Science Center. The demo will light up the venue’s 24-meter dome with Christie’s Digistar 6 planetarium/dome cinema system, making use of 10 Christie Mirage 304K projectors.

PARIS – In July, Paris hosted the Japan Expo, a full-scale video game show dedicated to the Japanese culture. Square Enix, a Japanese video game company best known for developing role-playing video games such as Final Fantasy was one of the major exhibitors. For the audiovisual design of the booth, Square Enix contracted NEXXT France, a young French company that provides audiovisual services through innovative solutions.
