Wybron Eclipse IT Mechanical Dowsers

Wybron’s series of Eclipse IT mechanical dowsers has been updated to include a new drive mechanism and new motors. Six versions of the Eclipse, three Iris models and three Shutter models, will get new motors. The Iris models use a camera-like aperture and the Shutter models use vertical blades to dowse sports lights and discharge lights that can’t be dimmed electronically. A new drive mechanism inside the Iris models will simplify the aperture fins. The Shutter unit, formerly called Eclipse I IT, is now the Eclipse IT Shutter, and the Iris unit, formerly called Eclipse II IT, is now the Eclipse IT Iris.

Element is based on the Eos® control system but with a simplified feature set. ETC plans to begin shipping this summer 2009.

Elation Design Beam 1200C

The Elation Design Beam 1200C is a 1200W hybrid that can perform as either a spot, wash or long throw beam projector. Housed in a case with the dimensions more commonly found among 575W fixtures, the Design Beam 1200C is sized for tight spaces and is well suited to tours and traveling productions. Digital Hoist Controller

Show Distribution Group Inc.’s latest controller for the entertainment rigging industry is a handheld computer controller designed to synchronize positioning and load balancing on over 250 hoists of any brands or type, including winches and scenery elevators. Features include user-defined access to control, meaning that certain users could have access to only a certain group of hoists, or be able to move hoists as groups only and not individually. Built with a heavy-duty remote enclosure and customizable and programmable to meet many requirements, the controller can be reprogrammed to be used in different setups or configuration. It can also be upgraded to add features like position monitoring, synchronization, load monitoring, speed control and more, assuming the hoists or winches are properly equipped with such features. It is well-suited for schools, churches, theatres, convention centers, touring, live events and other uses.

Zero 88 ORB Console

Zero 88, part of Cooper Controls Ltd, launched ORB, a new theatrical lighting console based on market research and customer feedback. The ORB uses four universes of DMX control and the ZerOS software suite, the same platform underlying the operating system used for Zero 88’s Leap Frog and Frog 2. The ORB lets users control and integrate multiple LED fittings, intelligent lights or media servers controlling video along with generic dimming systems. The user interfaces include custom designed encoder wheels, multiple playback stacks, user definable keys and optional touch screens. The ORB also offers tools like an integrated track ball, automatic palettes and syntax keys for more experienced lighting operators. The ORB will be featured at the ProLight + Sound Exhibition in Frankfurt, Germany.

Palco 5 Full Color LED

Palco 5 Full Color looks like other fixtures in the Palco line, but has the ability to create a new kind of look. The fixture uses REBEL LED, a light source with a maximum performance of 80 Lumens. There are 105 LEDs in a matrix of 35 lenses, each 9 watts of power, for a total brightness of 5,500 lumens. The space-efficient color mixing system mixes the red, blue and green Rebel LED with a choice of three different lenses: narrow, medium and wide. The fixture works as a color changer with powerful beams of light, even color on the illuminated surface and an elimination of color shadow effects, with color uniformity evident even when viewing the fixture’s LED matrix directly from the front.

American DJ Mega Bar 50 RGB

The Mega Bar 50 RGB from American DJ, designed for smaller venues and spaces, is a DMX-compatible indoor RGB mixing bar that measures 1.5 feet in length, less than half the size of the original 1-meter Mega Bar, and less than half the price. Equipped with 126 10mm LEDs (42 red, 42 green and 42 blue), the Mega Bar 50 RGB offers the same lamp density as its larger cousin, and can be used with a DMX controller.

Chauvet COLORado 2

The COLORado 2, an indoor/outdoor color wash fixture, extends the COLORado series with 48 2-watt to 3-watt LEDs, RGB plus white, for precise color temperature control. The fixture responds to 3, 4, 5 or 9 channels of DMX control. Encased in aluminum, the fixture has an IP66 rating and a 12,350 lux @ 2 meters output. Additional features include an LED display with password protection. The COLORado 2 is compatible with the COLORado Controller. The luminaire comes with a 15-degree lens or an optional 30-degree lens. The COLORado 2 is linkable with up to 10 units at 120V. The hanging bracket allows for truss mounting and it doubles as a floor stand. An autosensing feature automatically adjusts the power to the current provided.
