ETC’s Paradigm Responsive Controls

MIDDLETON, WI – ETC’s Paradigm Responsive Controls – the newest additions to the Unison Paradigm family of architectural control – reduce wasted electricity in any indoor or outdoor space. Paradigm Occupancy/Vacancy Sensors use passive infrared sensors (PIR) to detect vacancy, automatically shutting lights off when a space is unoccupied. They can also be configured to turn on when someone enters a room. The sensors can also adjust the output of lighting fixtures based on the amount of natural light in an area.

DALLAS – Philips Strand Lighting is now shipping the Philips Selecon PLProfile4 LED luminaire.  The fixture uses four 120-watt RGBW LED chips which create more than 6,000 lumens of output. Features include pattern projections and interchangeable lens options. Variable color temperatures range from 2300K to 9970K in white.

A Linux-embedded server, Raptor significantly lowers costs to users over full-blown Windows servers while significantly lowering power usage. It begins shipping in February.

Sommer Cable is offering its new Octopus Hybrid PUR 443 fiber-optical hybrid cable line, pictured left, for control applications or for transmitting AES/EBU (or DMX) signals. Along with the 443, which combines four OM3 multi-mode fiber optics with three power supply wires and two signal pairs, the company is also offering its reworked Octopus Hybrid PUR 244, pictured below right, with two single-mode fiber optic lines and two power wires plus two signal pairs. Both the PUR 443 and 244 are touted for their light weight, compact size and rugged design features.

The StageTek staging assembles quickly without tools, folding frames or other cumbersome understructure. The decks are 20 percent lighter than comparably sized Wenger Versalite decks and feature integrated hand grips that require 40 percent less grip strength to handle. Assembly time is also reduced.

The system also can be used for flying performers. Three new operator consoles are available. Password-protected access levels keep unauthorized users out of the system, while offsite secure access allows for remote diagnostics.

Along with Arkaos’ Kling-Net protocol, which automatically configures and distributes real-time video data to remote display devices by pixel and lets users achieve perfect time synchronization with many types of display devices, the Zeus Media Server does away with the expensive hardware converters previously required to send video data.

R30 is available to download now from the Members Only Area of the Cast website. The release follows a successful beta-testing period which saw one tester put the new software to use on an undisclosed high-profile project.
