J.R. Clancy Performer Flying Hoist

SYRACUSE, NY—J. R. Clancy, Inc. introduced a performer-flying hoist. Clancy makes this unprecedented move to develop a performer flying hoist as an outgrowth of its introduction of its new SceneControl 5000 line of rigging controllers. The new SceneControl 5000 family has the capability to control performer flying hoists as well as automated rigging for scenery, lighting and sound equipment.  Now users can purchase both the performer flying hoist and the controller from one manufacturer.

ORLANDO – The new Robe Robin Cyclone product was inspired by Pittsburgh, PA-based LD Scott Warner, who had an idea and took it to Robe. It features an integrated fan in the center of a moving head, surrounded by a ring of 24 individually controllable RGBW multichip LEDs. Cyclones are designed for wafting drapes and softgoods around the stage and set to produce subtle effects, as well as for cooling artists while performing in any hot environment complete with ‘hair-blowing’ and ‘smoke through the fan’ looks.

ADJ’s Mega GO Flood Par is a battery powered, low profile LED Par Can with RGB color mixing and a 120° beam angle for stage or wall washing. The rechargeable lithium batteries let users position the fixtures anywhere. They are particularly well-suited for short, wide wall washing and backlighting of scrim. The SMD (Surface Mount Diode) LEDs, which are rated at 50,000 hours of use, have a maximum power draw of 18W.

Ayrton’s MagicPanel 602 has 36 15W RGBW LEDs with high-output 7.5° 45-mm optics, and the fixtures also feature continuous double rotation in Pan and Tilt mode. Consuming 600W, the fixtures offer an overall luminous flux in excess of 14,000 lumens. 4G Ayrton technology gives users individual control of each LED source in expanded Full Color mode. The fixture can be used in groups to display letters or graphics via ArKaos Kling-Net or DMX RDM via its XLR connectors.

DTS’ MAX has optics that let it work as a moving Beam, Spot, Wash and Theatre fixture. The light source is Philips’ MSD Platinum 16R 330W, and with 11 coated lenses plus dichroic glass reflector, the beam ranges can vary from 1.5°-2° (Beam), 2°-37° (Spot), 10°-60° (Wash) and 4°-40° (Theatre).  The fixture operates with a 16-bit motorized linear zoom and focus and has a motorized iris and linear dimmer/shutter/strobe that can flash 0.85 to 10 times per second.

GLP’s impression X4S is the “small” version of the impression X4. It uses the same 15W RGBW LEDs as the X4, but with seven LEDs instead of the X4’s 19. Other similarities between the X4 and new X4S include zoom range (7°-50°), homogenous light output and pixel pattern capability. The X4S measures only 12 inches high and weighs 12 lbs. Other features include fast 16 bit movement, electronic shutter control and smooth dimming.

Robe’s Robin Pointe is a beam, spot, wash and effects fixture that is designed to be small, bright and quick. Using a 280W Osram discharge light source, it offers a 5°-20° zoom with full focus control, variable frost, two separate prism effects, a rotating and a static gobo wheel and inbuilt color wheel. A new homogenizer works with the rotating gobos to spread the light evenly. A variable frost effect effectively turns the beam/spot fixture into an efficient wash light.
