Christie’s Q Series 1-Chip DLP promises up to 10,000 lumens of output along with eClarity image processing technology for greater control over image sharpness, gloss and shading. Brightness and resolution options range from 8500 to 10,000 lumens and XGA, WXGA and WUXGA resolutions, respectively.
The HotBox EXA from Blizzard Lighting is a 5-inch square, cast aluminum wash fixture that comes with seven 15W (6 x 2.5W) RGBAW + Ultraviolet 6-in-1 LED modules. At full intensity, it emits 11,000+ Lux output at a one-meter distance. The unit also promises a full range of color, including natural looking whites, along with an intense 395-400nM ultraviolet light. The same LEDs are also found in Blizzard’s other recently-launched fixture, the RokBox EXA, which has 18 6-in-1 LED modules.
The Futurelight DMH-100 from Steinigke Showtechnic GmbH is a moving head that makes use of a 100W quad-color LED with a color effect prism, like the company’s smaller DMH-32 unit. The fixture lets users work with the focus and gobos layered on top of each other to create unique color effects.
The new Petzl Strix VL headlamp features multiple carrying options and both white and color lighting. It can be worn on your helmet, head, vest, strap or around your neck. The lamp’s double rotation system allows great freedom for orienting the beam: 180 degrees horizontally and 120 degrees vertically.
The MAC Quantum Wash from Harman’s Martin offers tight beams, wash fields, a wide palette of color and uniform mixing. The fixture offers 750W of RGBW LED intensity with optics that promise to optimize the 1:6 zoom (11 to 59 degrees). Measuring 17.8 by 17.8 by 22.8 inches and weighing 46.3 lbs., the fixture offers beam twister, light and color morphing and color spin effects. A “color wheel” effect offers 36 LEE-referenced colors plus white, and color ring effects include 36 split ring colors with variable speed color wheel rotation effects. There are four electronic dimming curve options along with onboard and DMX control over pan (540 degrees) and tilt (270 degrees).
ADJ’s Sweeper Beam LED fixture (with eight 3W white CREE LEDs) and Sweeper Beam Quad LED fixture (with eight 8W RGBW Quad [4-in-1] CREE LEDs) each combine two effects in one. First, the units scan back and forth with eight tight beams of light. Second, the unit’s LEDs have 8-zone chasing, pulsing and strobing effects.
The CORIO2 Universal Scaler (C2-2855) from tvONE promises more input/output flexibility than any other previous tvONE scaler. It can be set up and managed using a new front panel or via a computer-based emulator to dramatically trim setup time requirements with 2-press presets.
Chauvet Professional’s Nexus 2×2 (2 rows of 2 LED cells) and Nexus 4×1 (1 row of 4 LED cells) build on the success of the company’s larger Nexus 4×4 panel (4 rows of 4 LED cells). All feature 27W (2A) COB LEDs with a light-boosting reflector design, and all can be used for pixel mapping effects.
