Adding to their lineup of followspots, LDR announced the addition of the Astro 200W LED. Available in warm white at 3200K or cool white at 5600K, Astro is designed for applications where power supply is limited and running costs need to be significantly reduced.
Le Maitre calls its new Salamander Quad Pro the “big brother” to the Salamander flame units introduced last year. A four-canister system, the Salamander Quad Pro can be operated with each canister firing independently. Operators can also choose multiple colors, allowing for a variety of visual effects from a single machine — either sequentially (for increased effect duration) or at the same time (for a much bigger single flame). There are up to 120 hits in total, with flames reaching 4 meters in height.
BenQ’s new MH680 and MH740 projectors feature power-saving SmartEco technology, which extends projector lamp life up to 6,500 hours; 3D PC/Blu-ray readiness; the ability to display content wirelessly; and LAN control for remote monitoring. Ayrton’s new NandoBeam S6, set to debut at Prolight + Sound 2014, promises to be twice as powerful as its little brother, the NandoBeam S3. Designed for use on concert stages and in television production, the NandoBeam S6 features quick, dynamic movement along with a saturated color palette and an 8° to 40° beam spread.
NEC Display Solutions of America, a provider of commercial LCD display and projector solutions, added four digital projectors to its M Series, the 2,800-lumen M282X, 3,200-lumen M322X, 3,200-lumen M322W and 4,000-lumen M402X models. The M Series promises high contrast images, filter-free maintenance and features like ECO Mode, designed to increase lamp life up to 10,000 hours.
Chauvet’s newest compact LED wash, the Legend 412Z, features 12 10W Quad-Color RGBW LEDs, 8°-33° zoom, fast pan/tilt movement and flicker-free operation. At 5 meters, its illuminance ranges from 3,880 lux at an 8° beam angle to 330 lux at a 33° angle. It weighs 16.6 pounds/ 7.5 kg and measures 7.2 x 10.3 x 13.3 inches/ 183 x 263 x 340 mm.
NASHVILLE —Bandit Lites has formed a partnership with LED North America and is touting the development of the SuperSport, a 400W, 35,000 lumen output fixture that weighs just over 20 pounds and is “the size of a couple shoe boxes.” The fixture has an efficacy of 89 lm/W and promises energy savings of up to 85 percent. Because SuperSport units are designed to replace traditional fixtures weighing 100 to 150 lbs., the fixtures also promise to significantly increase venue load bearing capacities.
Chauvet Professional’s new Strike series of strobe fixtures use LED light sources. The company’s Strike 324 and Strike 882 strobes get their bright output from SMD LEDs. The Strike 324, pictured here, is shaped like a low-profile par can and contains 324 white 1-watt SMD LEDs. The Strike 882 is configured like a panel and equipped with 882 white 0.5-watt SMD LEDs.
