UVLD Provides Latest Technologies Sourced from ACT Lighting for Prestonwood Baptist Church’s Annual Christmas Spectacle

PLANO, TX — Prestonwood Baptist Church’s annual holiday spectacle, The Gift of Christmas, is known for cutting-edge technical innovation, and the most recent extravaganza did not disappoint. The show, staged in Dec. 2018, got a design assist from collaborators UVLD, who made use of Claypaky Scenius Profiles, Mythos2 fixtures, Follow-Me software and grandMA2 consoles for the 90-minute multimedia production. The products were all sourced via ACT Lighting.

J&S Audio Visual Puts Elation Proteus Fixtures’ IP65 Rating to the Test

PUERTO VALLARTA, Mexico — J&S Audio Visual took delivery of 12 new Elation Professional Proteus Hybrid fixtures in December and immediately put the IP65-rated moving heads to work on an outdoor show. As it turned out, the gig — a private concert staged in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico on Dec. 14 — was hit by a torrential downpour. LD Edgar Negron noted that the rain fell before, during and after the event. If a lesser fixture might have been doused, Negron was able to use them for ambience lighting and effects onto a Magic Sky umbrella for the event, which featured a performance by Ne-Yo.

USITT to Receive $25,000 Grant from the National Endowment for the Arts

National Endowment for the Arts Chairman Jane Chu has approved more than $25 million in grants as part of the NEA’s first major funding announcement for fiscal year 2018. Included in this announcement is an Art Works grant of $25,000 to USITT for the 2019 United States Exhibition of the Prague Quadrennial.
