This summer’s Pride Parade in Long Beach, CA was accompanied by a two-day, two-stage festival featuring Iggy Azalea, Natalia Jiménez and more. Islay Events lit the performances with an array of fixtures including ADJ Hydro Beam X2 and Focus Spot 4Z moving heads, Jolt 300 washes, and IP65-rated 18P HEX IP LED par fixtures.
Following a spring run of shows, Santana toured the U.S. from June 17 to Aug. 27 with opening act Earth, Wind & Fire. Santana’s “Miraculous Supernatural Tour” featured a lighting design by Michael Ledesma that included Elation Protron Eclypse hybrid LED luminaires and SEVEN Batten 14 LED strip lights. Both luminaires allowed for a full range of possibilities to complement the 75-year-old artist’s trademark guitar riffs with bright, vivid colors.
The German band Die Ärzte followed up the release of their 2020 album, “Hell” (“Bright” in German) with “Dunkel” (“Dark”) in 2021. This year, after pandemic restrictions eased, the band supported both albums with their 2022 tour.
