This year’s South by Southwest Music Festival (SXSW) in Austin, TX provided a unique classical music showcase into its multi-cultural annual event. The brainchild of Thea Paraskevaides from Brighton-based ‘Artists&’, the underlying concept was to close the gap between classical musicians and audience via integration and collaboration—aimed at creating a fluid and dynamic experience for the audience. “I want to move classical music more into the mainstream,” she declared. The 013 Poppodium in Tilburg, Netherlands, a vibrant live music venue offering a diverse and lively range of shows across its two performances spaces, has recently taken delivery of 30 new Robe FORTE moving lights. These are installed over the stage in the main 3,000 capacity auditorium, which is the biggest such venue in the Netherlands. Alfalite and FOR-A Announce First Sale in U.S. of LED Video Walls to The Church at Rock Creek

After launching a strategic sponsorship in April with Spanish LED manufacturer Alfalite, FOR-A announced its first sale of three walls of Alfalite Modularpix Pro screens to The Church at Rock Creek in Little Rock, AK. This sale marks Alfalite’s first order in the U.S. as well as the first sale for the FOR-A/Alfalite alliance. FOR-A’s HVS-490 video switcher and MFR-6000R routing switcher form the backbone of the church’s video infrastructure. CHAUVET Professional Storm 4 Profile from Squeek Lights Creates Excitement at Bergen PAC Reopening

The stately well-appointed theatre at 30 North Van Brunt Street is no stranger to sellout crowds. On November 22, 1926, when it opened as the Plaza Theatre with a double feature headlined by Harry Langdon and Douglas Fairbanks, its $1.10 tickets were the hottest in town. Tickets for this year’s grand reopening of the historic venue, in April were a bit pricier, but they were just as hard to come by. The Stage Managers’ Association (SMA) has announced its annual Del Hughes Awards for Lifetime Achievement in the Art of Stage Management.
