PAWTUCKET, RI – The Rhode Island Music Hall of Fame (RIMHOF) announced its 2018 inductees, including three honorees in the Technical/Lighting category: Bob Morrissey Andrew Polin and LeRoy Bennett (pictured here, L-R). Before helming Warwick, RI-based East Coast Lighting and Production Services (ECLPS), Morrissey co-founded Polico Lighting with Polin. Bennett, also from Warwick, joined as a tech before launching his career in lighting and production design as a lighting director on Prince’s Dirty Mind tour in late 1980.

The Yost Makes Events Extraordinary with Help of Elation Lighting

SANTA ANA, CA — The Yost, a sought-after venue for live events, got even more allure from entertainment production company N-Effect Productions with the installation that includes Elation Professional lighting fixtures. First opened in 1913 and listed on the National Register of Historic Places, the space initially housed vaudeville acts, silent films, and talkies, but has also seen service as a live theatre, house of worship, live performance venue and nightclub.

GLP Joins the Campaign to Save Stage Lighting

KARLSBAD, Germany – GLP noted that proposed changes to EU legislation to impose a minimum efficiency of 85 lumens per watt and a maximum standby power of 0.5W on all light sources, which would go into effect in 2020, should have an exemption for professional lighting technology to ensure that theaters and concert venues will be able to operate, since this would be, in effect, an across-the-board ban on all current tungsten fixtures in use, and even many LED fixtures as well.
