Fyre Festival Organizer Pleads Guilty to Additional Charges for Bogus Ticket Sales

NEW YORK — Billy McFarland’s Fyre Festival, originally set up as a two-weekend event in the Bahamas in late April and early May 2017, ended up costing 80 investors close to $26 million. After pleaded guilty to related fraud charges in March, McFarland, who faced up to 40 years in prison, was expected to get between eight and 10 years in a plea deal. But wait, there’s more.

Genetic Productions Lights R.LUM.R at Bonnaroo with Elation Fixtures

MANCHESTER, TN – Genetic Productions provided gear, crew and the lighting design for R.LUM.R’s Bonnaroo performance. LD Zac Coren lit R.LUM.R, a former classical guitarist who went from Bonnaroo attendee to performer within a two-year span. Working with Genetic Productions president Andrew Sparks, Coren lit R.LUM.R with a variety of Elation fixtures including Artiste DaVinci, Dartz 360, Paladin and ACL Curtain batten fixtures.

Lynyrd Skynyrd Heads Out in Style

NASHVILLE – For Lynyrd Skynyrd’s “Last Of The Street Survivors Farewell Tour,” which runs from May through December, LD Jonny “Tosar” Tosarello wanted to create a look that was as epic as the iconic Southern Rock band itself. He succeeded in doing just that with help from a collection of 28 Chauvet Professional Rogue R2 Wash fixtures supplied by Premier Global Productions.

Jason Aldean’s High Noon Neon Tour Features Follow-Me Remote Followspot System

DALLAS – Jason Aldean is back on the road with his High Noon Neon tour. LD Chris Lisle provided a variety of big, solid rock looks for the show’s design. As for this artist’s 2017 tour, Matt Mills, partner of Touch Light & Media, is supplying the Follow-Me remote followspot system from AC Lighting. Lisle noted that lighting director Keith Hoagland came up with the idea to use the Follow-Me setup last year. “I loved it so much we brought it back for this tour,” Lisle says.
