Kurt Wagner frames Michael Bublé with Ayrton MagicDot-SX

LOS ANGELES – Michael Bublé’s world tour, “An Evening With Michael Bublé,” kicked off the night before Valentine’s Day in support of the singer/songwriter’s 10th studio album, Love. Show and lighting designer Kurt Wagner specified 23 Ayrton MagicDot-SX to work with the Stufish-designed set to artfully frame the Canadian crooner.

U.K.’s Classical Spectacular Showcase Marks 30 Years; Lighting Rig Includes Claypaky Fixtures

LONDON – The Classical Spectacular music showcase returned to the Royal Albert Hall March 22-24, marking its 30th Anniversary at the venue. The Raymond Gubbay production featured indoor fireworks and lighting by LD Durham Marenghi, who included an arsenal of Claypaky fixtures – 16 Sharpys, 48 Sharpy Washes, 12 Scenius Spots, four Scenius Unicos and eight Mythos 2 fixtures.

NEW YORK – Manhattan Concert Productions presented The Scarlet Pimpernel at Lincoln Center’s David Geffen Hall on Feb. 18. Directed by Gabriel Barre, the show featured over 200 high school-age choral singers from across the U.S. LD Jason Kantrowitz used 4Wall-supplied gear including Vari-Lite VL3500Q fixtures and Ayrton MagicBlades, with an ETC EOS TI console for control.

ADJ Lights Up Hip Hop Legend DMC at DJ Trade Show in Las Vegas

LAS VEGAS – Taking place at the Tropicana Casino Resort on the Las Vegas Strip, the Mobile Beat trade show brought together DJs, MCs and entertainers from across the U.S. and beyond. For the second year, ADJ sponsored the event, providing lighting, video and effects production for the main stage which hosted educational seminars throughout the day and a welcome party featuring hip hop legend DMC of Run DMC.

Robe Pointes Help Mirror BMW 7 Launch in Shanghai

SHANGHAI, China – Lighting/visual artist Christopher Bauder from Berlin-based WHITEvoid supported the launch of the BMW 7 series in Shanghai with visuals similar to the mesmerizing spectacle of his kinetic lighting installation, Mirror Mirror. The 500 attendees at the auto reveal at Shanghai’s West Bund Art Centre were impressed with the visuals created with 52 moving Kinetic Lights mirror disks, synched with the movements of 42 Robe Pointes and one MegaPointe.

Kansas Heads to the “Point of Know Return” with Bandit Lites

DENVER – Bandit Lites is supplying gear for Kansas’ Point of Know Return anniversary tour, their 1977 album release featuring “Dust in the Wind.” LD Scott Pearson is using Wildfire Blacklite WF 101 fixtures, Martin MAC Viper Profiles, GLP X4S fixtures and Elation CuePix WW2 Blinders along with 14 Elation SixPars to light the set pieces, with an Obsidian Controls M6 for control.
