Avolites Ai Drives the World’s Largest Permanent Video Projection Installation

QATAR – Avolites notes that the National Museum of Qatar is using nine Avolites Ai Q3 servers to process 21 billion pixels of video projection content every second to support what Avolites is calling the world’s largest permanent video projection installation. The nine Ai Q3 servers are running alongside another 163 Ai Miami software licenses, running on 1U 8K media servers custom designed by the London-based visual technologists, RES.

LD Systems Lights RodeoHouston Concerts with Elation

HOUSTON – RodeoHouston 2019 ran from Feb. 25 to March 17 at NRG Stadium. George Strait drew 80,108 to the rodeo’s final show, with other top acts including Cardi B, Los Tigres del Norte, Santana, Camila Cabello, Zedd, Brad Paisley, Luke Bryan and Tim McGraw. LD Systems’ big rig included Elation fixtures used by LD Nathan Brittain.

Simon Horn and ChamSys Tour with Maribou State

LONDON – For a performance by electronic music duo Maribou State in London’s Brixton neighborhood, LD Simon Horn crafted a light show using his ChamSys Stadium MagicQ MQ500. The LD’s first show for the duo was a success, and Horn was asked to light the duo’s tour in support of their latest album release, Kingdoms In Colour.

ROE Visual Shines on Shawn Mendes Tour

LONDON – Shawn Mendes is touring this year in support of his 2018 album release, Shawn Mendes. Titled simply “Shawn Mendes, The Tour,” the trek ran through Europe and the U.K. in March and April and heads to North America this summer, then overseas this fall. The centerpiece for LD Louis Oliver’s light show is a massive circular video wall made from ROE Visual Carbon CB5 LED panels.

Jackson Browne Crew Takes It Easy with HES SolaFrames

MIAMI – Jackson Browne was still looking out for his roadies on his 2019 tour in March and April. The all-LED touring rig helped the lighting crew take it easy with no need for incandescent bulb changes or onerous power requirements. LD and lighting director Steve Comer’s setup included Bandit-supplied Sola Series fixtures from High End Systems.

WXTV Univision Nueva York Rebrands with Chroma-Q Fixtures

NEW YORK – LD Matt Gordon turned to Barbizon Lighting and A.C. Lighting Inc. for Chroma-Q’s Studio Force II fixtures to deliver impressive looks to the rebranding and redesign of the set at WXTV Univision Nueva York. Gordon credited the fixtures for enhancing the broadcaster’s looks and overcoming the challenges posed by a low-height grid.
