DOVER, DE – The 2019 Firefly Music Festival, staged June 21-23, drew close to 50,000 revelers with top acts including Travis Scott, Kygo, Death Cab for Cutie, Post Malone, Vampire Weekend, Passion Pit, Panic! At the Disco, Zedd and Tyler, the Creator, among others. LD Gabriel Fraboni lit the main stage with more than 200 fixtures including GLP JDC1 Hybrid Strobes, Robe BMFL Wash Beams, Robe MegaPointes and VL 3500 Washes supplied by Bandit Lites.
ANAHEIM, CA – Alt-reggae rockers Ocean Alley traveled across the Pacific from their native Australia and toured a variety of North American venues from May to early July. LD Max Baldwin included Chauvet Rogue R1X Spot fixtures supplied by Squeek Lights for the tour, positioning the fixtures on both sides of the drum riser and on the stage left and stage right decks for maximum effect.
Dutch popstar, Marco Borsato, recently returned to Rotterdam’s De Kuip stadium for the first time in 15 years to host a five-date concert series featuring an ambitious lighting and video program that turned De Kuip into a stage to rival all venues.
LOS ANGELES – More than 60,000 video game enthusiasts converged on the L.A. Convention Center for the 2019 Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3) June 11-13. Video game publisher 2K Games, which had announced their new Borderland 3 video game earlier this year, turned to 4Wall for a lighting and video rental package. The vibrant visuals helped draw attention to life-size 3D models and more than 100 gaming stations along with a theater and lounge at the event.
The highly anticipated Eric Prydz EPIC 6.0 HOLOSPHERE debuted at Belgium’s Tomorrowland Festival last weekend, with Eric performing inside a giant video-mapped, 3D transparent LED sphere.
Theatre lighting specialist Howard Hudson has deployed GLP’s new bespoke RGBY version of its bestselling impression X4 on the West End production of The Secret Diary of Adrian Mole Aged 13 ¾ – The Musical.

The mercury hit record highs as Warsaw sizzled in the European summer heatwave, whilst theatregoers visiting the Stanisław Witkiewicz STUDIO Theatre were treated to an equally hot performance of Cameron Mackintosh’s blockbusting musical ‘Les Misérables’ (school edition) staged by the Śródmiejski Teatr Muzyczny (Downtown Musical Theatre).
