ADJ IP65-Rated Fixtures Brighten Julefest in Solvang, CA

SOLVANG, CA – ADJ’s IP65-rated Hydro Beam X2 moving lights and 18P HEX IP LED-powered par fixtures are brightening Solvang, CA’s Julefest celebrations, bringing the town’s Danish holiday traditions to life. Festival organizer IDK Events turned to Jeremy Cable and his company Islay Events for an assist lighting a three-block section of the city’s main street, Copenhagen Drive.

Maná “Rayando el Sol” North American Tour Rig Centers on Claypaky Fixtures

LOS ANGELES – Since the Mexican pop and rock band Maná was founded in 1986, fans have purchased more than 40 million albums, and the artists have four Grammys and eight Latin Grammys to their credit. Claypaky fixtures played a key role in the band’s 2019 “Rayando el Sol” tour, which rocked North American venues from September through December.

SKALAR MX in Mexico Powers Up with Reflecting Beams from Robe Pointes

MEXICO CITY – Light artist and designer Christopher Bauder and composer/music producer Kanding Ray brought their epic immersive kinetic light/sonic art piece SKALAR to Mexico. The dazzling art installation powers up with Robe Pointes. The lighting setup included 75 Pointes attached to the walls on ladders and 15 more on top of three totem trusses positioned on the floor in the center of the space.

PHILADELPHIA – When Sellersville Theater 1894 north of Philadelphia sought to upgrade their aging lighting rig early in 2019, they contacted Artistic Concepts Group of Chantilly, VA for an assist. Michael Wysolmerski at Artistic Concepts steered the venue’s TD/PM Daniel Faga to Elation’s Artiste DaVinci.

Fever 333 Tours U.K. with Vari-Lite VL10 BeamWash Fixtures

LONDON – For California “rapcore” band Fever 333’s recent tour of Europe, LD Hayden Borgars used Vari-Lite’s VL10 BeamWash fixtures for the first time. Borgars credited the fixture for versatility, speed and power and also lauded its VL*FX Animation wheel.

SolaPix Makes Touring Debut with Highly Suspect

DALLAS – After a year off due to the front man’s shattered leg, and with a new album to promote, American rock band Highly Suspect needed a strong comeback for its U.S. tour. LD Justin Wade turned to Gemini Lighting, Sound & Video’s Jason Cain, who suggested using High End Systems’ SolaPix 19 fixtures. Wade side-mounted 16 of the fixtures on four pre-rigged towers to light the band and dazzle the audience.

Keith Urban Summer Festival Tour Rig Included GLP X4 Bars and JDC1 Strobes

DURANT, OK – Tom Sutherland of DX7 Design and creative director Brian Burke provided lighting and production design for country singer Keith Urban’s Summer Festival Tour, which has been running this past year. The lighting rig consisted mainly of GLP’s X4 Bar fixtures and JDC1 hybrid strobes.
