NAMM continues to build on its vast collection of videotaped oral history interviews, preserving thousands upon thousands of conversations. Three recently posted interviews feature industry veterans with Indiana roots, including Jeff Van Duyn, Dan Kasting and Mark Hogue.
Work is underway on the 23rd Annual Parnelli Awards, and the excitement all starts with the forward-thinking live event industry leaders who make the celebration possible. American reggae band Stick Figure recently wrapped their ‘Sacred Sand Summer Tour’ out with a design by Lighting Designer Nesta Garrick, and a lighting system provided by Bandit Lites. Garrick chose fixtures that would provide a range of effects, utilizing ACME, Chauvet, Elation, GLP, and ROBE fixtures.
Grammy Award winning Jamaican reggae legend Buju Banton returned to the U.S. for the first time in 13 years when he performed two back-to-back shows at New York’s UBS Arena. His 90-minute set, chock filled with much-loved anthems like “Champion” and “Wanna Be Loved,” was lit by Lighting Designer John Dacosta with CHAUVET Professional fixtures provided by The Design Oasis.
Karol G recently concluded her historic ‘Mañana Será Bonito’ world tour with four incredible stadium shows in Madrid. The year-long run featured an ambitious production with lighting design by Lightswitch Senior Director Ignacio Rosenberg, working with lighting vendor PRG. At the heart of the design were Elation PROTEUS luminaires, which played a vital role in both the stadium and arena shows.
The branding theme for the ‘Women Of Wrestling’ TV series consists of two Ws made up of 64 CHAUVET Professional COLORado PXL Curve 12 motorized battens supplied by Felix Lighting. The stunning flourish is part of a dynamic lighting design by five-time Emmy Award winner Darren Langer, working with LD Felix Peralta, and drafter Chris Fernandez.
Adam Hall Group’s Cameo ORON H2 IP65 Hybrid Phosphor Laser Moving Heads were supplied by i:TECS Event Production for the Iron Drift King competition, pitting the best 64 drift drivers for race track bragging rights in Germany’s “City of Iron”—Gräfenhainichen.
