Production Profile

Lords of The Ring

A Canadian creative and performing arts company, Ex Machina, spearheaded by director/actor/playwright/scenic artist Robert Lepage, is fusing high tech and high art for New York Metropolitan Opera's re-imagining of Richard Wagner's 19th Century four-part opera, Der Ring des Nibelungen, or The Ring. The production is using an innovative stage design, infrared interactive software and 3-D projection technology to update The Met's previous production of the controversial composer's masterwork – the more traditional Ring production by Otto Schenk and Günther Schneider-Siemssen, which ran for more than 20 years.

Creating OMG with Lighting and Video

If you meet and talk to Peter Morse for five minutes, you might never know what a rich history he has in the entertainment industry. He’s very modest and down to earth, and he doesn’t often drop names or bring up his many accomplishments.

The Judds: One More Time

The Judds have had a 26-year career, recording and touring both as an ensemble and individually. However, they last toured together for their Power To Change tour in 2000, and in the intervening decade, touring technology has changed significantly. For instance, witnessing the introduction of DMX-controlled media servers that turned LED from panel indicator lights into a display format and light source, and the evolution of video from simple image magnification to a creative graphics display platform.

Matthew West: The Story of Your Life Tour

Matthew West's Grammy nomination in 2009 was the culmination of several years writing songs and scoring number one hits in the contemporary Christian market and the country scene. Most of his songs reflect his own life experiences, but in 2010 he decided to turn the mic around. He reached out to his fans and asked them to share their life stories. In return, he would write songs that were inspired by those stories.

Guns N’ Roses Tour Places Video Front & Center, and Director FOH

While it's not surprising that the current Guns N' Roses world tour is a big old-fashioned three-guitar arena show with enough pyro to make you think you're in Boston on the Fourth of July, it's not the typical flash and trash lighting rig. And even though the increasing importance of video in rock shows is nothing new, this one stands out.

A Mayhem Festival Scorcher: Korn LD Jason Bullock Helps Turn Up the Heat

It's hot. No, not just hot, it's scalding. It's baking. It's miserably, intensely, enormously, horribly, hot! It's Dallas in August. The mercury has hit 110 and it's still climbing. On the Superpages.com Center's outdoor stage for the Rockstar Mayhem Festival, Jason Bullock, LD for Nine Inch Nails, Slayer, and now Korn (among others) is searching for somewhere that's dark and cool to hang out before the show.

The Last Video for the Last Rodeo

Brooks & Dunn's Last Rodeo tour went out on top, with the video support for their last shows as crisp and well-executed as you'd expect from a major tour. At the Verizon Wireless Amphitheater in St. Louis, a few weeks before the last tour marked its Sept. 2 farewell at the Bridgestone Arena in downtown Nashville, the crew brought their A game as fans partied, sang, cheered, and even let themselves get misty-eyed a few times.

Adam Lambert: The Glam Nation Tour

If you watched season eight of American Idol then you will not be surprised to learn that Adam Lambert was very much involved in the design and execution of his solo tour, Glam Nation. The runner-up in the singing competition was a sensation because of his creative approach to style, arranging songs, and the striking production. His singing voice was only the cherry on top.
