Nathaniel Rateliff & The Night Sweats Annual Holiday Show

Nathaniel Rateliff & The Night Sweats were back for their annual holiday show, this year at Denver’s Ball Arena, and Brown Note Productions were back to support them. Production Designer Jeremy Roth and Video Designer/Director Michael John Grant fill us in on the details.

The Los Angeles-based alt-metal rockers, Tool set out on the road supporting their record, ‘Fear Inoculum,’ with a show from the creative team of Lighting Designer/
Director Mark “Junior” Jacobson, Video Designer/Director Breckinridge “Breck” Haggerty, and Laser Designer/Programmer/Operator Scott Wilson from Production Design International (PDI).

TikTok ‘In The Mix’ Festival

Tom Sutherland of DX7 DESIGN brings us inside the live-streamed 5-hour event, the ‘TikTok In The Mix Festival’ which took place in front of a sold-out crowd of 17,000 music fans at Sloan Park in Mesa, AZ. Billed as “the first-of-its-kind live global experience on TikTok,” they brought in 9.6 million viewers tuning in live, and set a viewing record of 33.5 million viewers counting the original broadcast and three rebroadcasts.

Daddy Yankee’s La Meta Shows in Puerto Rico

The design team at The Playground created a spectacular send off—La Meta, the final five concerts in Daddy Yankee’s career at the Coliseo de Puerto Rico. The Playground team of Creative/Show Director Curtis Adams; along with Production Designers Trevor Ahlstrand and Sooner Routhier worked with Lighting Programmers Will Flavin and Dane Kick on these spectacular shows.

22nd Annual Parnelli Awards

Talking about Mental Health

This month we continue an ongoing discussion about mental health and wellness support for the touring and live events industry. We speak with Tour Manager Marty Hom, who over this past year has begun bringing in mental health support for his tours, as well talking to Dr. Chayim Newman of Amber Health, a provider of clinicians and therapist specifically for our industry on implementing this much needed well-being resource.
