Enhancing the Worship Experience with LED Fixtures

LED lighting has been around for at least a decade now. While interest in LED fixtures has always been high, the performance has often been lacking, causing potential adopters to hold back on making the transition, or ending up with a lighting rig with issues. In recent years, however, LED lighting has given house of worship lighting designers the brightness, control, and color options they had been seeking to bring their worship services to life.

At Northwoods Community Church, a Total Systems Upgrade

While the technical systems at Northwoods Community Church, located in Peoria, IL, were adequate for most services, there was no room for growth and little flexibility. To improve, the church upgraded or replaced almost all of their technical systems. Matt Hemmele, Northwoods’ Technical Director, walks us through their technical systems along with Graeme Brown, president of Peoria, IL-based Advanced Audio and Lighting Systems, who handled all of the lighting, video, and audio work for the project.

1015 Folsom’s Video Facelift

San Francisco nightclub 1015 Folsom planned to undergo a massive remodel to commemorate its upcoming 30-year anniversary, which will happen on Oct. 15, 2016. Along with its remarkable staying power, the 20,000-square-foot nightclub is known for hosting big EDM headliners. With so much attention being focused on the San Francisco area during Super Bowl 50 weekend in February, 1015 Folsom Owner Ira Sandler decided to get a jump start on the renovations. He called on Eric Bernstein of Intelligent Lighting Services in Austin, TX to upgrade the club’s lighting and video system with gear from Mega Systems, Inc.

Lasers… There’s just something about the stunning visual effects they can create. Everything from aerial beam projections and liquid skies to laser text, graphics and even laser logos. Advanced laser projector technology from companies like Pangolin Laser System and Kvant has allowed this light source to mix in well with other multimedia show elements, including intelligent lighting, video, pyro, fountain projections and more.
