This month we continue an ongoing discussion about mental health and wellness support for the touring and live events industry. We speak with Tour Manager Marty Hom, who over this past year has begun bringing in mental health support for his tours, as well talking to Dr. Chayim Newman of Amber Health, a provider of clinicians and therapist specifically for our industry on implementing this much needed well-being resource.

THE Conference: Live at Lititz is returning to the Rock Lititz Campus in December. A much anticipated second gathering, the unique industry event is for live entertainment production professionals to focus on important industry issues, concerns and objectives to build a stronger, healthier touring and live event industry.

Putting Action to Words

In early December, in Lititz, PA, “THE Conference: Live at Lititz” brought together a diverse cross-section of the production side of the touring industry for two days of sessions to discuss the future of the industry in regard to safety, mentoring, mental health, diversity, inclusion and equity, touring logistics, labor, finance, and sustainability.

Coming Together as a Single Voice

Michael T. Strickland, Chair and Founder of Bandit Lites, Inc. has spent much of his time over the last 2.5 years working on behalf of the entire live entertainment industry by lobbying Congress for support and aid during, and now recovering from, the global pandemic shutdown. He has met with over 80 Senators, Representatives, and staff members during his efforts and one thing became clear to him, the live entertainment industry must speak to Congress with a single voice.
