It’s All Teamwork

PLSN has a new cover design this month. Michael Eddy takes a moment to thank Art Director/Production Manager Mike Street and the rest of the PLSN team for their continuing efforts on the magazine’s behalf.

Purposely Big

While laying out the stories in this month’s edition of PLSN, editor Michael S. Eddy noticed a theme running through many of them, that of going big, scaling up productions, but with a very specific purpose.

Virtual Horizons

At NAB 2022, roughly 50 out of 1,200 booths showed Virtual Production (VP) solutions. A year later there were 600 out of 1,500 booths in the segment. InfoComm 2023 also underscored the fact that VP as a market segment has moved from buzzy trend to something worthy of full blown R&D assets for manufacturers.

Who Knows Where We Go from Here?

PLSN Editor Michael S. Eddy covers some of the April 2023 issue’s highlights, including the epic 35-year run for Broadway’s “The Phantom of the Opera,” this month’s virtual production-focused “In the Volume” section, the use of virtual production tools on Blake Shelton’s live concerts and more.

Got Crew?

While the problems created by this shortage of labor are numerous, it is also a rare opportunity to address another equally important issue in our industry’s labor pool—Diversity, Equity & Inclusion.
